You’re 4

Hello!! It’s hard to believe that it’s the for another challenge over at Come and Get It!! Our theme this time is Cards For Kids, and we are sponsored by the generous PaperNest Dolls.

Our Badge

I must confess, time got away on me, and this was a late make!!

You're 4

I used Ballerina Emma, and colored her up with my SN markers. Yesterday it was feeling very spring like here (today, not so much, with about 6″ of snow overnight), so I used soft pastel colors. I used scraps from 2 different paper collections, and cut the number 4 out with my Cricut. I used a die from Elizabeth Craft  for the bunting. Pink ribbon bows, some yellow flowers, a Brad and glitter glue pulled everything together, ready for the fussy cut image to dance onto the card :)

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Choosday – Week 9 ATG

Creative Knockouts – #183 Die/Punch Frenzy

Cute Card Thursday - #467 ATG

Gem of a Challenge – #189 Use 3 ‘B’s’ (ballerina, bows, bunting, blooms)

Hello!  Today I have this card that I made with this absolutely adorable image from Julia Spiri.  I colored her up using my Prismacolor pencils, then distressed the edges a bit. I’ve been trying to use some of the awesome stuff that I’ve been hoarding in my stash, and came across this leather look paper – so decided to give it a whirl on this card.  I added a few strips of lace, then found some leather cord to use as well. I dove into a flower jar and layered up some blossoms, which I added a gold pearl to each of the centres.  I found a little wooden ladybug and some adhesive metal squares to embellish the corners. Hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

BFF

Kitty Love

BFFGood morning!! Hope everything is going well for you, as we go into a new week!  Today I have a card for you this was made for a challenge on the Kit and Clowder Facebook group, using this sweet image from Some Odd Girl.  I colored Crazy Love Tia with my SN markers – which have been feeling a bit neglected since I got my Prismacolors!  I paper-pieced her jacket and jeans with some scraps that I had on hand, and shaded these pieces with my markers.  I also added some “tears” in the jeans with some white gel pen (that wasn’t working too well).  I found the adorable paper with the paws in hearts, and knew it would be perfect for this card!!  It coordinated with the denim print paper that I also used.  I found the circular “friend” sentiment – one that I’ve had for years, and have never used before!! The paw border was from the same paper collection as the heart background paper, and the punched border incorporated more hearts :) I added a sprinkling of brads in one of the corners for some balance, and called this card done :)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Sparkle

Birthday sparkle

Hello :)  I hope everyone is able to be enjoying summer weather, and able to relax and take some time to do what you love to do.  It’s time for a brand new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. this week, and this time, our challenge theme is Add Ribbon and Sparkle.  Our generous sponsors this time are Lacy Sunshine, and Crafty Ribbons.

We will also be choosing our Star of the Month for June in the near future, and they will win a prize from the fabulous Nikki Burnette!

I was given the gorgeous Adeline by Nikki Burnette to work with for my card. I had some serious issues with my mojo while making this card :( I colored the gorgeous image up with my SN markers (3 times, to be exact!).  Instead of coloring the wavy strip behind her, I glittered it up, for my first bit of “sparkle”.  Like I said, I did this repeatedly, and the coloring worked, and the glitter worked, but when I started assembling things, yuck!!! I am not one to throw anything out, because I know I may be able to re-purpose it at a future date, when my brain is in a different place.  Well, this time, I tossed my messes in the trash!! Yes, they were THAT bad!!!  After getting a good nights sleep, and some encouragement, I tackled it again.  Color, check.  Glitter, check.  <—-but that wasn’t the problem!! I went through tons of paper before finding this piece of black and white DP.  I started positioning things, with a yellow shimmer paper as matting….and it worked!!! I used both black and white ribbon for the bow, and added a sparkly butterfly in the center.  More sparkle was added with gemstones on the background paper, using the pattern as a guide for placement.  I found some alpha stickers for the sentiment, and I thought I was done…..I thought it needed a bit more…..something……  So I printed off another image, colored the butterflies adding a bit of Wink of Stella, and popped them on for some extra dimension!!! Wish I would have put the image at a bit more of an angle….but whatever!! At least it’s not totally trashworthy, lol :)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Robyn’s Fetish – Butterflies

Thank You

Pierced Thank You

Hi there!!! It’s (past) time for another challenge at Come and Get It. I say “past” because I got so confused the last week, and got challenge dates so mixed up – so this is a late post.  I think my brain is getting old before I’m ready!!!  Anyway, our challenge this time is Paper Piercing (not piecing).  As always, we have some wonderful sponsors, and this time around, it’s

offering 3 images, and

Original sentimentalsusan

also offering 3 images!

My teammates have been busy making fabulous inspiration cards for you, so be sure to check their projects out, and prepare to be amazed :)

I was given Butterflies from Sentimental Susan to use on my card.  I colored them up with my SN markers in rainbow hues, and fussy cut them out.  I found a template for paper piercing on Pinterest, and used it on a piece of vellum (love the look of piercing on vellum!!)  I cut around it and mounted it on some olive green cardstock.  Of course, the glue showed on the corners, even though I used special vellum adhesive, so I found some gold ribbon and covered it up :)  I punched about a million little blossoms, layered them and centered them with gold pearls.  The sentiment was stamped, embossed and cut out and placed in the center of the pierced piece.  Positioning the butterflies was the last step I did on this card :)

I hope you like it, and we would love to see your creations at our challenge :)

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Robyn’s Fetish – Butterflies

Swinging Into Summer

Summer SwingThis is the first card I’ve made in too long that’s been just for fun – not a design team make, or an order (although I have fun doing those, too!) I’ve had this sweet image from The Paper Shelter for some time, and colored her up with my SN markers, with a soft background done with chalks.  I liked the idea of a cloud background, then found a few scraps of dotted and striped paper, for other elements of the layout. I fired up my Cricut, and cut the fence, then slightly inked it with the same DI as I used to ink the edges of the other pieces. A MS pansy punch was used for a border. I made the flowers up, using some punched, micro beads, pearl stamens, floss and tiny pearls. I arranged these on top of some greenery cut with a Tim Holz die. A big pink bow, with a butterfly button center, some dragonfly buttons, and a sentiment finish off this sweet girly card :)

I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:

Christmas at the Bird House

Christmas Birdhouse

Hello everyone :)  Time is just flying by, and it’s Thursday again!! That means there’s a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T.!  We are once again doing the challenge theme of “Christmas” – because we know how easy it is to leave these cards to the last minute, then panic.  So we are doing a service to everyone by encouraging you to start early, and save the headache!!! (Yes, I’m speaking from personal experience…..it’s no fun making 60 some cards in a month, while working full time and trying to have a life!)  We have 2 fabulous sponsors for this challenge: Pickled Potpourri

and Nikki Burnette

These are 2 more wonderful reasons to make up a Christmas project and join in on the fun!!!  My teammates have some wonderful festive projects to inspire you, as well, so be sure to check them out and leave them some love :)

I used the winter birdhouse from Pickled Potpourri’s “Seasonal Birdhouses“, and merged it with one of the sentiments from the “Ready, Set, Snow” set.  I tried something new when coloring the image…..I used oil pastels, but I painted with them after soaking my brush with mineral spirits.  I like the rustic effect that it gave.  I added a teeny bit of Wink of Stella to the snowflake and the snowman to give some snowy sparkle to them.  I did a lot of messing around with the layout, until I found the current sketch at Sketch Saturday

This helped me out, and I grabbed some woodgrain, and burlap printed papers, some red ribbon and a few rhinestones, and tada!!!

First Birthday

First Birthday

Hi there!!! It’s Sunday, and that means it’s time for a brand new challenge at Come and Get It!!!  We have a super fun theme this week:  Wierd/Whimsical; and a super fun sponsor:

who are offering 3 images to the winner!!  So think of something wierd, or whimsical, make a project, and get it entered to win this fab prize :)  Also, don’t forget to stop and leave some love for my amazing teammates and their inspiration projects :)

I am using Pigasus from Ppinky Dolls.  I colored her up with my SN markers, then shaded a rainbow into the background with colored pencils.  For some reason, the stripes on her stockngs and sleeves really jumped out at me, so I decided to go with a black and white background with just a few colorful touches.  I added a ribbon rose to her hair (where the flower is, in the image).  It’s not a typical first birthday card, but I think it works wonderfully :)

I got the inspiration for the layout of this card from this sketch:

at Tuesday Morning Sketches

Lilies and Lace

Lilies and Lace

Hello there :)  Hope that everyone is doing great out there in blogland!  It’s time for a new challenge at Creative Fingers.  This time around we are being sponsored by one of my favorite artists, Ching Chou Kuik, as well as the wonderful Digital Papercrafts!  All of our challenges are anything goes, so there’s no reason not to enter :)  While you’re there, leave some love for my teammates, who do such amazing work!!

I was fortunate enough to use Ching Chou Kuik’s Lily – found here. I’m loving the effect of coloring in a monochrome color with just a pop of color, and this little lady lent herself well to that technique :)  I found some wide lace and covered the background card stock with that, then added purple flourishes to match the lilies.  After I had everything in place, I went nuts with the pearls :)  They are just the soft, elegant touch that this card needed!!

I’d like to enter this in these challenges:

Ching Chou Kuik’s Challenge – Pearls and Lace

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends – ATG #35

Crafty Gals Corner – Pop of Color

Fab N’ Funky – Favorite Color Combo ( I love black and white, with a splash of one color)

Dog SympathyHey there! I know it’s a weird post title, but I’m still thinking about Old Yeller (and my pups) – the movie that I was inspired by for this weeks challenge at C.R.A.F.T. – where the theme is – you guessed it – Inspired By a Film.  Our ever so generous sponsors are

Who are offering 7 images!

and

Who are offering 2 images :)

Be sure to stop by and check out my teammates happy inspiration projects!

I was given the image Dog Condolences by Bugaboo to work with :)  I gout out the trusty SN markers and colored it up, then found some paw print paper for the background. I cut some hearts with my Cricut, and highlighted them with Glossy Accents.  A simple, stamped sentiment, and I was done.

I hope you can be inspired by your favorite film, and join the fun at C.R.A.F.T. this week!
