C.R.A.F.T. Birthday Bloghop!

Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday Dear CRAFT Challenge
Happy Birthday To Us!
Can you believe it? CRAFT Challenge is already 8 years old. Originally started by Tracy from Just Tracy Crafts and with a DT mostly recruited from Trimcraft forum members (Hence the term CRAFT Challenge, which stood for Crafters Residing Are Friendly Trimmies. Or if you wished alternative meaning of Can’t Remember A Flipping Thing) on the 4th of May 2009.
We have now grown to be a large team of Design Team Members from all around the world, supplemented with several Guest Designers who join us for a month or a week at a time.
We have always welcomed all kinds of craft, not just paper craft (unless specifically stated so in the challenge at the time) and are happy to have such a large group of faithful followers.
So, how are we going to celebrate this milestone?
Well, how else can we celebrate than to have our yearly Blogaversary Blog Hop?
We all feature sponsors for this blog hop on our blogs and I have the honour of featuring and offering a prize from the following sponsor. You can win this prize by adding your name to Inlinkz at the end of this post. I would love to see your comments as well.
The sponsor on my blog is Lacy Sunshine Stamps.
And you can win 3 digital stamps of choice from Lacy Sunshine Stamps  by adding your name to the Inlinkz at the end of this post.
How can you get to win any of the prizes provided by our sponsors?
That is easy! Just follow the route on our blog hop, Our Blog Hop lasts for the duration of this challenge, which means a closing time of Wednesday 6pm GMT on the 17th of May 2017.

ZebrasI had the idea for this card the other day, and was really excited to get to it, because it was back to some of my old rubber stamping techniques.  I used an old rubber-stamp of a zebra, I don’t know the brand name, but I got it at Michael’s as part of a set of animals.  I used masking to make a row of them to run across the strip of white card stock.  The sentiment stamp is also an oldie…’s by Stampology.  I used a Nellie Snellen circle die to cut it out and to mat it in the turquoise.  I’ve had the animal print Cuttlebug embossing folders for a long time, but haven’t used the zebra (or tiger???) one yet.  It was perfect to use with CoreD’inations Black Magic paper :)  After sanding the embossing to expose the white, I matted everything with turquoise and added a few small brads to the corner.  Loving the CAS design of this card :)

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Cuttlebug Mania – It’s A Zoo Out There

The Crazy Challenge – #243 We Love Animals

Lemon Shortbread – #36 ATG

Birthday Swing

Swing Into Spring

HiBirthday Swing there! Today, I have a card made with Ching Chou Kuik‘s Gentle As A Breeze. There is a challenge in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group where participants use this image to make a project.  I actually made a card with this stamp previously, but learned that wine does not go well with coloring! I wasn’t happy with it, so I got my SN markers out and made this one :) With the colors of the image being so bright, I opted for leaving the rest of the card quite subdued. Some embossed paper for the background, a Poopy Stamps birthday die,  pearls, and a few white bows was all this spring-like card needed :) I hope you like it!!

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafting By Design - It’s Almost Spring!

Brown Sugar Challenge - ATG #239

Morgan’s Artworld - #4 For the Ladies

50 and Fab

50 and Fabulous

Good morning!! Today, I have a card made with one of KennyK’s fabulous images. Foxy Mama can be found here.  I’ve entered it into the February challenge on the KennyK Facebook Group. Anyone that enters their ATG challenge qualifies to receive this month’s freebie…”Scarlett West“.

50 and Fab

I colored this image with my SN markers, then started having fun with my new star border die, from Frantic Stamper.  I did the inlaid die cut technique, using Silver mirror and glitter papers. For the sentiment, I used my Paisley and Chalkboard Fonts (I think) Cricut cartridges. I sprinkled a few of the leftover stars around for some extra zing.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door – ATG week of Feb 21

Cut It Up – #116 Birthday Cards

GerberasHi there!! Today, I have a card that I made for a special friend to celebrate her birthday…much like we celebrate the fact that she is a part of our lives <3  I used the gerbera daisies that came with the Kit and Clowder’s “Elements of Nature” class.  Some are colored with my SN markers, and the others are with my Prismacolors, but all with the same techniques :)  I fussy cut them out and set them aside while I did a watercolor wash on some paper, then added salt to give it some texture and design.  I printed a big birthday sentiment out on my computer and then cut it out with a nesting die.  I had a rubber stamp that was also a gerbera daisy, and used this to stamp and heat emboss the card black, for a cool, coordinating background.  After positioning everything, I die cut some leaves and scattered a few sequins for a bit of bling :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Digi Choosday – Week 4 ATG

Crafty Gals Corner – #107 ATG

Simon Wednesday Challenge – ATG

As You Like It – Favorite Flower, and why…..Love gerberas because they are so bright and cheerful, and come in such a wide array of colors :)

Orca Bday

Orca Birthday

Orca BdayI have a friend that ordered a card for someone who loves orca whales.  I did a search for images and found this fantastic image at ByMissRach on Etsy.  She has all kinds of cute animal digis at great prices :)  I haven’t played with my alcohol inks lately, and, since I wanted a blue, ocean-y background, I figured this card was a good one to pull them out for.  After getting the inks done the way I wanted, I gave a spritz of Goosebumps spray (that you can’t see in the pic) and cut out some random circles from the background.  I wrapped some floss through the cut outs, then mounted it all on a blue textured paper that I had in my stash.  After putting the image on, I added a black bow, some adhesive water droplets and a Cricut sentiment :)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Pile It On – Make Your Own Background

Sunday Stamps – Shades of Blue

The Craft Barn – Blue or Blues

Birthday Babe

Good morning!!! Thursday has rolled around again, and with it comes a new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenges!!! This week, it’s everybody’s favorite theme….ATG!  So, stop by and enter any of your projects created after today’s date, because the sky’s the limit….and…..of course we have some wonderful sponsors that are offering prizes that you can win :)

How great is that?? Do what you want, and 3 possible prizes :)  Stop by the blog and check out the fabulous inspiration projects my teammates have created – they are the greatest group of ladies, and deserve some love for their amazing projects!!

I was given the image “Copacabana” by Rick St. Dennis.  I love the ladies he has, they have such style and attitude!!  When I made this card, I didn’t have any “vision” of what it would look like, not even the colors… I truly “winged” it from the start :)  Sometimes those are the most fun projects to create!! I decided to go with a camel color suit with pinky gold accents (ok, the accents started really pink, but looked crappy with the camel, so they turned into pink gold).  The fur and feathers on her outfit started off pale pink, then took on a more gray tint, then settled on a pinky taupe (told ya I winged it, lol)  Love that about my SN markers, I can change my mind with them :)  If I sound as if i was indecisive with my color choices – you should have seen me with the paper!!!! OMG, I amaze even myself sometimes!!! It was ALL over.  Like most cardmakers, I have enough paper to last me about 12 lifetimes, and I swear, I looked at almost every piece and scrap of it!!!  I like this one I picked….didn’t even realize I had it, haha. I will not get in to the process of picking embellishments….I will just say that if I didn’t keep it as simple as I did, I would be writing this post well into next year.  The sequins and flowers are both about 20 years old, from some of my mom’s old craft supplies, and the bow I tied from some gorgeous ribbon I won in a recent challenge win – thank you, POPPET!!

Pretty in Pink

Pretty In Pink

Hi there!! I can’t believe how fast the summer is flying by! August already, and I haven’t done half the summer stuff I was hoping to do!  It’s also time for another ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers. We have two amazing sponsors for our month long challenge (we’re on summer schedule). They are:

As always, my teammates have creations that are absolutely stunning, so be sure to stop by and be inspired :)

I was given Leilani by Connie Fong to work with. What a beautiful image, and so much fun to color with my SN markers!  It was screaming “pink!!” at me, so what could I do, but comply? :)  I found some pretty coordinating papers and a doily, and kept arranging them until I was happy.  Then, I went into my flower jar and found some roses to place on top of the pink bow I had put in the corner.  I edged one of the roses in pink, because it was too white, and spritzed the smaller ones with some pearly mist to give them shimmer.  Some pearls, a sentiment and a few gold dragonfly embellishments finished this card off in a way I was very happy with :)

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

In The Pink – #100 Birthday – ATG

Whimsy Cake

For some reason, a bunch of my posts are not publishing….checked everything I know, and I just don’t get it….and of course, I haven’t been double checking that they showed up… is only a wonderful thing when it works!!

Party without cake

Hello, it’s time for another challenge over at C.R.A.F.T. – this time we have a color challenge for you!

Of course, we have some fabulous sponsors, and this time they are:

Although I struggled a bit with this color palette, my talented team mates really knocked it out of the ballpark with their stunning creations, so make sure you check them out and give them some well deserved lovin’. :)

I used the Whimsical Cake image from SLS lines….found HERE.  I colored it up with my SN markers and pencils, then matted it, and the stamped sentiment from Hero Arts (I think), on orange CS.  The background paper was stamped and embossed with yellow embossing powder.  Some yellow dotted ribbon and a few enamel dots finish this birthday card off :)

Blue Mermaid

Blue Mermaid

Hi there!! I managed to take an extended long weekend off work, so I had time to play :)  Another rare card that isn’t an order or a DT make.  I got this beautiful image as a freebie from Amanda at Faery Ink on the new Facebook group Markers! Papers! Digis!  It’s a fun group where we share our coloring, and the sponsors are fabulous, with freebies popping up, and contests and games :)  You should check it out :)  I colored this little beauty up with my SN markers, adding touches at the end with white gel pen and glitter glue.  I played around with my paper choices until I found the pretty damask print that I used, which coordinated with the colors in the image beautifully.  I cut some wavy pieces of paper freehand, highlighting them with glitter glue, then dug around for some more “ocean-y” embellishments.  Loving how it all turned out in the end…..and I have 1 more day of me mini vacation…..what to do?? *grin*

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown – Fairies and Fantasy (300th post!! woohoo)

Sketch Saturday – week 419
