Rose Angel

Rose Angel

Rose AngelSince I got confused with the dates, and entered another card into the Aurora Wings Challenge with a whole week to spare, I made this one for the Feathers and Fur challenge, so I could stick with “tradition” and come slithering in with a last minute entry :)  I used the beautiful Rose Angel by Mitzi at Aurora Wings.  I colored her up with my SN markers, and I must say, the language at times wasn’t too ladylike, trying to do so many whites, yet keep everything separate…..I think I managed (thanks to the language?)  I went through a lot of papers until I found the blue and pink DP….then distressed the edges of that and the image.  I die cut a piece of white card stock with a Tim Holtz die, and layered it over a pretty blue, for the background.  The lace that I found in my stash matched the lace on the angels dress perfectly!  I won some roses from Wild Orchid in a challenge recently, and I paired them with some other roses from my stash.  I die cut the feathers with an unbranded die, then inked the edges lightly with Distress Ink.  I assembled the roses, feathers and some die cut leaves and added some silver pearls tucked here and there.  A few more pearls balanced the finished product.

  1. This is a gorgeous take on the theme. You captured the white of the angel’s gown perfectly, Susan! Love the feather dies and pretty flowers to echo what’s in the image. Gorgeous card! Thank you for joining us at Aurora Wings! Mitzi xx

  2. ROTFL, Susan! You never disappoint. WOW, two from you this time and isn’t this just gorgeous as all get out? Unlady like language is a must for the truly talented and creative and the outcome here is stunning. Amazing coloring and design and what fabulous matching lace. Love, love, LOVE!
