Mermaid Dreams

MermaidI saw this digi stamp by Lemon Shortbread, over at Sweet Pea Stamps, and just HAD to have it!! I colored the little beauty with my SN markers, then added a mixture of Pearl Ex powder and Diamond glaze to her tail, to give some sheen and texture.  A light touch of pencil crayon in the background made the image all ready to hop onto a card…..  I wanted to stick with the brown and turquoise theme, so found some CS and embossed the turquoise, lightly rubbing some distress ink over the embossed parts.  I punched the corners of the brown piece, then added some sand to give some texture.  I dug around in my craft room and found some seashells that weren’t too bulky.  I wanted a NET though… a fishing type of net…..hmmmmmm… some embroidery floss out and I hand tied the net for the card :)  Some pearls and gems in the mermaids hair and edging the focal image finished this off in a way that I’m really happy with!!
