Hi there! Here’s a card that I started with one idea – and that idea kept morphing until I ended up with something that barely resembled my original thought. I’ve been wanting to use this gramophone stamp by Recollections for quite some time, so I gave it a go. I stamped it on a parchment type paper with black Distress Ink. Then, I masked it off, and used a Technique Tuesday music stamp and vintage photo Distress ink for the background. I tore and inked the edges, and stamped some flourishes in the background. I found the base paper and thought it would work nicely for the background……but something wasn’t right, so I curled up a corner and added a piece of the music to peek out. I smudged up the edges of the background with black ink. I found an old stop of cotton fabric and rubbed some black and rusty hinge Distress Ink into it, and tied it onto the background. I added a piece of printed border sticker and some black rhinestones to the focal piece and glued it down at an angle. I used a sentiment, also from Technique Tuesday, stamped on the same paper as the main image, to finish things off. I think this fits the theme for The Crafter’s Cafe “distress it” challenge quite nicely!
