Salute!!!

Hi there! Well, I just could not resist making this rude little card for one of the guys at work. We are always at each other, trying to elicit a special “salute”. Dustin Pike, from Whimsy Stamps, came up with Dudley Flipping the Bird, that was perfect for my birthday card! It comes in both censored and uncensored versions, but I had to give the full salute! After adding a little sentiment on the sign, I colored him up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.

I chose a piece of black and white dotted background paper, then dug around in my scraps for pieces that were big enough for the die cutting. I cut 2 frames, inlaying one with a black and white stripe piece, and positioning the frames at a wonky angle. I cut a few candles to tuck in, adding some glitter to the flames. To finish off, 2 “celebrate” die cuts were layered and attached. I love the bright and bold look of this card!!

Love Magic

Hello there, and Happy Valentine’s Day <3 I made this card as my second inpiration for the February Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme is “Love”, which can be interpreted so many ways. I decided to use Love Magic, colored with Copics, with gold and white Posca accents πŸ™‚

I kept with the theme by using some pretty heart print background paper. After die/fussy cutting my image out and matting it with pink, I dug out some gold mirror card. The background paper has gold foil accents, so the mirror card coordinated nicely. I die cut a heart piece, and inlaid the hearts with white, before tucking it behind the image. I layered white velvet ribbon over the gold card for corner accents, and tied a bow, centered with a heart off cut. The gold die cut “love” sentiment finishes the card off.

The Love of a Dog

Hello! I’m rushing in to share my first inspiration card for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. February is all about love, and that’s our theme πŸ™‚ Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge lover of animals, and have had the honor of sharing my life with some wonderful dogs. Their loyalty, unconditional love and pure joy whenever you’re around is absolutely incomparable!! I used the adorable Yorkshire Terrier image, and colored it up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out.

I coordinated the colors in the image with the vibrant heart print paper (which was a magazine freebie many years ago), and the pink and aqua accents. I placed the image on a wonky stitched die cut, which I inlaid with some striped paper from the same magazine. The sentiment was printed on my computer, then inlaid into another stitched rectangle die cut. For embellishments, I die cut some paw prints and a paw heart, which I added some Glossy Accents to for some shine and dimension.

Give a Man a Fish

Hi there πŸ™‚ Well, I’m back after some technical difficulties with my blog….thanks to my amazing son ❀ I’m here to share my inspiration piece for the latest ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. We have our amazing regular sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps, offering the prize this time around. I used Gus Fishing for my card. I was running low on masculine cards, and I just love this character!! I colored him up with my Copics, then matted both the image, and the sentiment pieces in a dark blue.

I layered the printed background paper on the same blue paper, leaving a wider edge on one side to showcase the single embellishment for the card. I die cut a fish hook from silver mirror card, and strung some thread through it, before attaching it to the card.

Christmas Panda

Well, I’m back to work today, so this is the last Christmas card I’m going to share for now. My ‘adopted’ daughter (aka Kiddo Bear) loooves pandas, so I always try to incorporate one into the cards I make her. I love the bears, from Lili of the Valley, so decided to color James With Big Star up a bit different, and make him into a panda πŸ™‚

I added some white Posca highlights to the star, then die cut a black frame. I wanted to carry through the star theme, so die cut a swirly star motif in the bottom of the background paper. Gold stars peeked out from under the cut, and coordinated nicely with the red and gold plaid paper that I’d chosen. A simple black die cut sentiment finished things off.

Santa’s Helper

I promise, I’m almost done with the Christmas card posts! Lol! This one was a favorite, because it features an image from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I just love the images from here!! I colored Toyshop Helper up with my Copics.

I had printed the sentiment at the same time as the image, and it was placed just right on the sheet of paper, so I just cut the 2 out all in one piece. Perfect for a clean and simple design! I doodled a bit around the edge, then matted it with a cute print paper. No embellishments necessary with this adorable image!

Decked Out Deer

Hello πŸ™‚ Here I am again with another Christmas card! This gorgeous Reindeer image is from LC Waterworth, a “new to me” artist. I colored this beauty up with my Copics, and touches of white Posca, then stamped a sentiment between his antlers.

I did some rummaging through my paper stash, and chose a number of pieces from the same collection to layer the card up. Some enamel dots provided a quick finishing touch.

2020 Tree Ornaments

Every year, since my kids were born, I have purchased or made a tree decoration for them. This was with the understanding that, when they were grown and on their own, I would get them a tree, lights, and topper, and give them the decorations that had accumulated over the years. <3 Although they both have their own trees, that doesn’t stop this momma from continuing with the decs! I had to made one that commemorates this year somehow. I still have a bunch of Fimo and Sculpey clay, so decided to use some of it up. Oy!! Although it wasn’t dried up, it was fairly hard, and I certainly gave my hands a workout softening it up! (Perhaps because it’s been sitting for about 15 years, lol). I had much grander plans for the decorations, but after the softening process, I found that I was way out of practice!!!! Duh! I managed to get this pair of masked snowmen, holding their sanitizer, made up and sent off to both my kids πŸ™‚

Purple Sparkle

Hi there πŸ™‚ Well, it’s hard to believe that I’m sharing my last inspiration card of December, and 2020, for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge!! Our theme this month is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday/Just Because, and there’s still a little bit of time to get your entry in! I used one of my favorite CCK images, Snowflake Imprint, for my card. As it’s for someone that loves the color purple, that was the predominant shade! I colored it with my Copics, and added some purple ice Stickles and tiny rhinestones for sparkle.

I lucked out and found a purple snowflake print paper in my stash!! I cut the image out with a circle die, then layered a snowflake diecut over top to frame it. I stamped the image and cut it out so I could tuck it in the corner. The inside parts of the frame had some lovely snowflake cut outside, so I used them and a few punches to sprinkle around the image. More Stickles and rhinestones were added, for an extra boost of sparkle.

Corgi Joy

Well, I’m continuing on with the posting of this year’s Christmas cards πŸ™‚ I made this one for my kid, using an adorable Christmas Corgi from Power Poppy. I colored the sweet little pooch up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.

The shape of the image, as well as his reindeer antlers, gave me the idea of doing an interactive card. He just had to be flying in the night sky, over the tree tops! I cut out a slimline base, then cut a slot to assemble a penny slider mechanism in.

Before putting things together, I gave a quick spritz of Glimmer Mist on the top layer, then added some twinkling stars with a Posca pen. I die cut a number of pine trees, and some pieces to look like snow banks, and arranged them on the bottom of the card. The die cut sentiment emulated the movement of the pup, so was perfect for this! I got the image attached on the slider, all ready to spread Christmas joy πŸ™‚ I finished off with some tiny rhinestones in the centers of the stars, and some snowy glitter on the trees and snowbanks.
