Candy Cane Fairy

Hi there! I’m soooo late sharing my inspiration card for the Aurora Wings Facebook challenge. As in…the November challenge has ended….I’m so out of it!! However, on the bright side, it’s the perfect situation for any of you that keep track of time like I do, that we welcome old and new projects, so if you missed out on one, you can enter in the next one! I used the oh, so festive Candy Cane Fairy (here on Etsy) for my card. I colored her up in traditional Christmas colors, using my Copics, a white Posca pen, and some silver glitter on her wings.

After cutting a frame with a die from The Ton, I layered her on a striped background paper. I added a die cut sentiment and candy canes (can’t remember where these dies came from for the life of me!) To tie in with the silver on her wings, I added a silver bow, baubles and a strip of mirror card on the sentiment.

Steampunk Bells

Hi there 🙂 I’m sharing my inspiration card for Creative Fingers today. All of our challenges are ATG, and this time, Angelique is sponsoring with this lovely stamp set:

I used the steampunk bell image, from Make It Crafty, a store that has sadly shut down 🙁 I colored the image with my Copics, then fussy cut it out and placed it on a die cut circle.

I embossed the background with a steampunk themed folder, then smudged some ink over it, to give it a bit of a grungy look. I die cut the sentiment, and some holly leaves, and inked them up a bit before gluing them down. The “berries” are some metal gear embellishments, and a few brads.

Delicate Thoughts

Hi there 🙂 It’s hard to believe how fast November is flying by!! This is my last inspiration card of the month for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge. Our theme this month is Remembrance/Thanksgiving/Thinking of You. However the DT was put to the task of using pink and/or blue for their projects this week. I used the beautiful Poppy Glamour for this card, and colored her up with my Copics.

After managing to get her framed up with a pretty oval diecut, I layered her with pieces of coordinating papers that were a magazine freebie years ago. The sentiment was die cut and then I added some pearl embellishments, including some teeny tiny ones on her bracelet and blouse. Although this isn’t a color palette that I normally use, I love the delicate look of it!

Memories

Hello 🙂 I’m sharing my second inspiration card for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge. Our theme this month is Remembrance/Thanksgiving/Thinking of You. I used the greyscale image, Spring, for this sympathy card. I colored it up with my Copics and matted it with black.

I fiddled around with a few different layouts and ideas, but they seemed too fussy for a sympathy card. I kept it very simple by printing off a sentiment on the background and adding a black mat to match the one on the image.

Profile Of Beauty

Hi there 🙂 I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! This card features a gorgeous image from Mariola Budek. Along with all the lovely work she has available in her store, she also generously offers a number of free images in her Facebook group (this image is one of the freebies!!). I colored her up with my Copics, then cut her out…partially with a die, and fussy cutting the rest.

I found some ribbon in my stash that matched the flowers, and added it to the layers of cardstock with a black dolly accent. The corners were die cut with a Cheery Lynn die, and the sentiment was stamped. I added some black baubles to balance out the overall card design.

Winter Sled Friends

Hey there 🙂 I have another wintery card to share, featuring Hollybobs Sleightime from Polkadoodles. I colored this sweet image up with my Copics, then stamped a seasonal sentiment to the side of it.

I layered it up with some blue and pretty snowflake papers, and arranged a number of silver and white die cut snowflakes around it. The pompom trim reminded me of little snowballs, so was perfect for the card. To balance things out, I added a few sparkly embellishments.

Chilly Trio

Good morning 🙂 This card is pretty indicative of what it looks like outside here. We got snow, lots of snow (a foot!,) last weekend….in addition to some pretty brutal winds…a true prairie blizzard!! Although the city was pretty much at a standstill, we’re moving now 🙂

This is my card for the new ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. We are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps this time, always a favorite with the DT 🙂 I used Winter Trio for my card, and colored it with Copics. I added the snow with my blender pen and a white Posca.

I found the striped background paper in my stash. I’m trying to use up some of my pieces of paper, rather than always cutting into full sheets, and this one paired up nicely with the image 🙂 I die cut the pretty snowflake border, and layered it over some red card stock for definition. I layered everything with a strip of green, and added a die cut and assembled bow. The sentiment is also die cut, then the letters inlaid with the same green as I’d used for the bow.

Shabby Thoughts

Hello there 🙂 I hope everyone is staying safe, and doing what they can to protect others, all while trying to remain sane!! I’m sure I’m not the only one that is SO done with the pandemic and all that it’s brought! Our challenge theme for this month at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group is “Remembrance/Thinking of You/Thanksgiving”. All of these take on new meaning in these uncertain times.

For my first DT inspiration this month, I used Peony Kimono Maiden, to make a shabby chic Thinking of You card. I used my Copics to color this beautiful image up, then stamped the sentiment and distressed and inked the edges.

I found a pretty piece of patterned paper in my stash, that went beautifully with the subdued colors of the image. I layered this up with some coordinating solid color cardstock, all of which I’d distressed and inked. I tucked in 2 doilies before attaching the image. A bow, tied with crinkle ribbon from DL Art, and some pearls finish my card off.

Sympathy Wreath

Hello there! Today, I’m sharing my (late) DT inspiration for the current ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. We are being sponsored by the generous Jan’s Digi Stamps, who kindly provided the DT images to work with. I chose the Fall Cotton Wreath with the sympathy sentiment (there’s a number of sentiments in the set, to make this a super versatile set!) I colored this up with my Copics, and admittedly struggled a bit, as I printed it up smaller than was smart!

I cut the image out with a die with a pretty edge, then rummaged through my paper stash, trying to decide on what to do!! Since I like to keep my sympathy cards quite simple, all the printed papers that I tried were just too fussy for what i wanted. I decided on a plain brown cardstock, with some pops of blue to match the bow in the image. I did a little angular cut out to add a bit of interest without complicating the card design. Some square gems gave the project a bit of understated sparkle.

Halloween Dusk

Hi there! Well, Halloween is less than a week away now….time keeps flying!! This is my last inspiration project for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge. Our theme this month is Halloween/Pumpkins/Halloween Colors. I finally got around to doing a Halloween project for inspiration lol. I used Exotic Night for my card and colored her up with my Copics.

I stuck with a Halloween color scheme, and used some orange paper that I stenciled with bats. The bottom part of the card is a brick wall die cut, layered over gray paper. This reflected the wall in the image. I layered everything up, tucking some branch die cuts behind the image, and adding a strip with a printed sentiment.
