Hi there! I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to stay safe and healthy π This card is out of the ordinary for me in a couple of ways…..no colored image, and masculine! I had to make a quick retirement card for work, the recipient being a “tinkerer”, and very mechanically inclined. I die cut a gear border, and a few single gears, from metallic card, then stamped and embossed the sentiment. I sprinkled a bit of chunky embossing powder for a bit of texture in the blank space. A mirror card mat, and the outside was done. I carried out the theme on the inside, with a sentiment, matting, and die cuts π
Hello there π It’s Sunday again, and I’m here to share an inspiration card for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is βUNDER THE SEA OR FUN IN THE SUN OR BY THE SEAβ. I incorporated two of these themes with this card….Fun in the Sun and By the Sea…with this lovely mermaid image entitled Above the Dirt. I colored her up with my Copics, giving her a background of bright rays of sunshine, and some sparkle to her outfit and her tail.
I picked some background paper to coordinate with the image, but found that she was lost while placed against it. To address this, I added a diagonal stripe of white embossed paper, matted with some gold sparkle paper. I added some die cut corner pieces and some white Card Candy to finish this sunshiny card off.
Hi there π I’m here to share my inspiration card for the current ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. This time, we are being sponsored by Angelique, who is offering this gorgeous stamp set for the lucky winner.
Since I haven’t made a mermaid card for Mer-may yet, I figured I better squeak one in!! I used the lovely Shoujo, from Lemon Shortbread stamps, for my card. I colored her with my Copics, then went to work on the rest of my project.
Since the colors I used for the image were so bright, I decided to do the main layout if the card in white and silver… and the dotted wave pattern paper was perfect. I cut some white and mirror pieces with a stitched wavy border die, then layered them up. The seaweed and coral diecuts coordinated with the ones in the image. A few Pearl’s, some die cut shells and an outline sticker sentiment finished the card off π Of course, as is always the case with mirror card, the photo doesn’t do this justice.
I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:
Hi there! It’s been awhile since I’ve played with an image from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I’ve had this cutie, Howdy, for far too long, and have finally found the time to get her on a card π I colored her with my Copics, keeping the colors of the papers (which I’ve also had for ages!) in mind.
The challenge at Mo’s this month is a sketch….
How fun and versatile is this?? You can use bits and pieces, and really go to town with it!! I matted and layered all the pieces, following the sketch pretty closely. After adhering the image I die cut the horseshoes and the rope and attached them. To finish off, I printed a cheerful sentiment on my computer.
Hi there π Wow, May is sure flying by….of course, for those of us working from home, time seems to have lost all meaning, and it’s hard to keep track of the time. Hopefully everyone is staying safe, sane and smart π This is my last inspiration post for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Embossing – Wet, Dry or Both. The DT was challenged to an extra theme this week, an that is to make a shaped card. It’s been a while since I’ve made a bow card, and I have a special friend’s birthday coming up, so this seemed a great time to dive in and make one of these amazing cards. I used the pattern from Sandra’s Scrapbooking that I got a few years ago….lucky I did, since the store is now closed. I used the image Fern and Butterfly, and colored it up with my Copics, then cut it out with a pretty oval die.
I set the image aside and went to work with assembling the rest of the card. In keeping with our embossing theme, I found a fern stamp and used this and clear embossing powder to dress up some plain green card stock. I used this and a subtle pink stripe paper to form the bow. I attached the image, and a stamped and embossed sentiment, then went to work with embellishing. I found some perfect color flowers in my stash and arranged them, along with die cut fern leaves, around the image and peeking out from the bow loops. I hope the recipient will love this card as much as I do….and yes….it will be hand delivered, not mailed!!!

Hello there π I’m sharing my inspiration card for this month’s ATG (old or new) challenge at the Aurora Wings Facebook group. It doesn’t even have to be a full project, we like to see your colorings, as well!! When I saw this image, Cultured (available HERE on Etsy, and HERE in the digi shop), I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. With all the frontline workers doing so much for everyone during the pandemic, the testers are often forgotten. I made this card to send to these people at our provincial laboratory <3 Before printing the image, I lightened up the lines of her nose and mouth, as I added the mask to her (Mitzi is so good with us making small alterations like this mask to her images). When I colored her up with my Copics, you could still see the shadow of her lower face, which was what I wanted. I added Glossy Accents to the goggles for a bit of realism, and fussy cut her out.
I dug around in my paper, and opted for this neon green (virus?) color for the base. I die cut 2 abstract cuts….which looked science-y to me…..and layered them on the green. I took some of the bright blue paper from the same pad as the green, and cut the thanks out of it, then again from black, to give it a shadow. After everything was pasted in place, and matted, the card needed something. Some black sequins fit the bill perfectly, and the card remained flat for easy mailing. I wrote a note in it, and instead of signing it, I just expressed that this thanks was from the people of Saskatchewan π
As You Like It Challenge – Favorite Embellishment? Sequins seem to be it lately. Why? They add a nice pop of color or sparkle, are lightweight, and keep the card flat for mailing.
Hi there π I hope you are all doing well, and staying healthy π This card is my inspiration piece for the current challenge at Creative Fingers. Our very own Angelique is sponsoring this challenge, and will send the lucky winner this beautiful stamp set:)
The image that I used on my card is by Faery Ink…..I think. I can’t find it anywhere in the store, but it was in my Faery Ink folder….so I’ll go with that. If I’m wrong, please feel free to correct me, so I can give the right artist credit. I colored this cute little guy up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.
I layered some different yellow papers up…..on which I die cut into a sunburst, and the other, I printed an inspirational quote by Buddha. I added a few sequins and double matted the card to finish it off. I love how the image, the bright colors, and the saying all combine to really convey this happy message π
Hi there π I’m here to share an inspiration card for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. This month, our theme is Embossing, Wet or Dry. The DT have an extra challenge put to them this week, and it’s to add some sparkle. I’ve managed to incorporate both themes in this card, featuring the image called Stars Dreams. I colored the image with my Copics, then added some Wink of Stella to the moon for the first bit of sparkle. Of course the picture doesn’t show this!!
I die cut a pretty star frame, that compliments the image perfectly, then took my embossing pen, so I could selectively heat emboss some of the stars with some sparkly embossing powder. I also embossed some extra stars, and the stars in the image. I layered the image and the frame on to some sparkly blue cardstock, then added a bottom panel of white CS, that I embossed with a star embossing folder….if you look hard, you can see the embossing….it was hard to get a picture of the texture without getting some mad glare from the sparkly paper!! I added the die cut sentiment and then scattered a few of the sparkly stars around it to finish off.
Hello there:) With the current worldwide situation, I’ve been sending out cards to family and friends all over the world, to let them know I’m thinking of them, and hope they’re safe. The image that I used on this card is a freebie, generously given by Polkadoodles. It’s part of a set that pays tribute to the frontline workers that are giving so much <3 It’s also perfect for a friend, who is one of these heroes. I colored it with Copics, then cut it out with a wonky stitched die.
The heart print paper coordinated so nicely with the image, and showed a little love as well!! I used a more subtle print from the same collection, as well as solid and glitter sheets to provide some contrast. I cut the sentiment out and placed it on a banner die, then layered everything up. I finished off with some banners at the top, with a heart brad to tie everything together π
I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:
Hello there!! Happy Mother’s Day to all that celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful day…even though it was different for many of us. It’s my day to share some inspiration for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Embossing…Wet or Dry. It’s been a while since I did anything in my favorite color combo, so I colored up the gorgeous image, Longing, in that palette with my Copics. I die cut the image out, then matted it with some Black Magic paper, that I sanded the edges of, to show the white core.
I embossed some of the same paper, then sanded it to enhance the design, before die cutting it into 2 banner shapes. I layered everything up, then added a red rose, some flourish leaves that I cut from silver mirror card, and a few silver balls. Love the dramatic look that this color combo gives!!
