Hello! Here is my card for the current challenge at Come and Get It. Our theme this week is Weddings, so it’s a great time to make up a card for wedding season. Our generous sponsor is Di’s Digistamps.
I was snooping around on the net, and came across this cute wedding couple at The Hungry JPEG. I merged the various elements of the set, then added a “congrats” sentiment to the banner. I sot of mirrored the banner shape when cutting out the image. I used a sheet of double sided DP for the background, cutting strips of the reverse side as a top and bottom border. This card needed a bit of glitz, so I brushed on some Wink of Stella on the veil, added a rhinestone necklace, some silver bows, and matted everything on some silver glitter paper. Love the funky feel of this card with the flamingo couple
I would love to enter this into the following -
A Gem of a Challenge – #196 Wedding or Anniversary
Not Just Cards- #45 ATG
A SnowFlakes Promise - #41 ATG
Good morning!! It’s time for another challenge over at C.R.A.F.T. Where does the time go?? It’s hard to believe that we’re already into February of this year!! We will be choosing the “Star of the Month” over at C.R.A.F.T., and we have the fabulous Rick St. Dennis sponsoring us for the star.

Our challenge this week is this inspiration picture:
so, whatever inspires you from this picture to get creative, use it!!! If it itsn’t really obvious where your inspiration comes from, make sure to let us know in your blog post
I used the image Bird of Paradise, as I was obviously inspired by the bird I was going to stick with the color scheme, but then all the pretty colored pencils started to call to me!! One word of advice, with detailed images such as the ones like this, don’t print them so small!!! I almost went blind coloring this lovely lady in! After coloring her with my Prismacolors, and smuging some chalk in the background to ground her a bit, I moved on to the rest of the card. I used a feather embossing folder on the bright green background, then wrapped some sheer black ribbon around the card. I tied a fluffy bow, and it needed “something” …… and I’m not one to put flowers on everything, so I muddled over it, and rummaged around until I found the bag of feathers that I got the beauties I used from. A few black enamel dots (eep, almost out!!), and a stamped sentiment finish this card off
Hi there! Apparently, I forgot to post this….it’s been “one of those weeks”- but the difficulties I’ve been having with a person at work resolved itself in a HUGE bit of karma! :)

I made a quick card, using some old stamps from Inkadinkadoo. I stamped and heat embossed the bird and sentiment in silver. These were some of the first Christmas stamps that I purchased years and years ago I then masked it off, and inked the sides with Dusty Concord and Peacock Feathers Distress inks. I added some purple, teal and silver sequins, and matted it all with a silver shimmer card stock.
I had to think about this one for a while, but I’m pleased with the results! I stamped and embossed the bird image (one of my favorites!) in silver. The stamp is from a set by Inkadinkado. I matted it with a silver shimmer paper, then found some pink shimmer card stock. I was well on my way to meeting the requirements of this weeks Merry Monday challenge, which calls for a card using pink, silver and white, as well as Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge (use silver or gold, or both). I found this sketch…
at Crafts 4 Eternity, and decided to use it. I embossed the background with the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder, added some silver metal snowflake embellishments, and a small “Joy” sentiment. With all the layers, I’ll also enter it in the Holly Jolly Christmas challenge.
