Spring Basket

Spring Basket

Spring Basket

I have another card today, this one using the absolutely adorable Annabelle by Conie Fong. With green being the “color” for March, I decided to do this card up in that color scheme as much as possible.  I colored the image with my SN markers, and distressed the edges, then got to work trying to find papers and embellishments.  The background paper is a big leaf print, which you can’t really see, but the color was what I was looking for.  I knew I had some basket weave texture paper, which I wanted to use, and, luckily found in my ever growing stash.  I wanted a lighter green piece, and found a piece of Whitewash Core-dination paper, but the whitewashed part was too light so flipped it over.  A doily and some lace finished off the foundation of the card.  I have a huge jar of diecut flowers that I can never seem to find a use for, so I shaped and layered them, to mirror the flowers in Annabelle’s basket.  A few punched leaves, pearls, pretty green ribbon and bow,  and a stamped sentiment finished this card off :)

Sneaky Birthday

Sneaky Wishes

Hello there :)  I seriously don’t know where the time is going, it’s looking like spring outside, and March is almost gone!! We also have a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. for you this week, and the theme is Add a Charm.  I find that I often forget about my stash of charms, so this is a great time to dig some up :)  We have the wonderful Sami Stamps

sponsoring us for the last time.  We wish you all the best, as you devote your time to family and your personal life :)

Sneaky Birthday

I used the adorable image Sneaky Whiskers, from our sponsor.  This stamp is so versatile, that I was hard pressed to decide on which idea to use for my project!!  I colored the kitties up and then fussy cut them out to use  later.  I cut the sentiment with my Cricut, using my oldest cartridge, Don Juan.  I found some funky coordinating papers in stripes and dots, and arranged them, using some plain card stock in colors from the print.  I then carefully positioned the cats so they were peeking out from some letters, and taking center stage at the bottom of the sentiment.  I found a mouse charm, which was perfect to hang from one of the impish kitties mouths. It needed a bit “more”, so I added some stitching around the block letters and some silver studs.

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Our Badge

I must confess, time got away on me, and this was a late make!!

You're 4

I used Ballerina Emma, and colored her up with my SN markers. Yesterday it was feeling very spring like here (today, not so much, with about 6″ of snow overnight), so I used soft pastel colors. I used scraps from 2 different paper collections, and cut the number 4 out with my Cricut. I used a die from Elizabeth Craft  for the bunting. Pink ribbon bows, some yellow flowers, a Brad and glitter glue pulled everything together, ready for the fussy cut image to dance onto the card :)

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Swing

Swing Into Spring

HiBirthday Swing there! Today, I have a card made with Ching Chou Kuik‘s Gentle As A Breeze. There is a challenge in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group where participants use this image to make a project.  I actually made a card with this stamp previously, but learned that wine does not go well with coloring! I wasn’t happy with it, so I got my SN markers out and made this one :) With the colors of the image being so bright, I opted for leaving the rest of the card quite subdued. Some embossed paper for the background, a Poopy Stamps birthday die,  pearls, and a few white bows was all this spring-like card needed :) I hope you like it!!

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

50 and Fabulous

Good morning!! Today, I have a card made with one of KennyK’s fabulous images. Foxy Mama can be found here.  I’ve entered it into the February challenge on the KennyK Facebook Group. Anyone that enters their ATG challenge qualifies to receive this month’s freebie…”Scarlett West“.

50 and Fab

I colored this image with my SN markers, then started having fun with my new star border die, from Frantic Stamper.  I did the inlaid die cut technique, using Silver mirror and glitter papers. For the sentiment, I used my Paisley and Chalkboard Fonts (I think) Cricut cartridges. I sprinkled a few of the leftover stars around for some extra zing.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door – ATG week of Feb 21

Gerberas

Celebrating…YOU

GerberasHi there!! Today, I have a card that I made for a special friend to celebrate her birthday…much like we celebrate the fact that she is a part of our lives <3  I used the gerbera daisies that came with the Kit and Clowder’s “Elements of Nature” class.  Some are colored with my SN markers, and the others are with my Prismacolors, but all with the same techniques :)  I fussy cut them out and set them aside while I did a watercolor wash on some paper, then added salt to give it some texture and design.  I printed a big birthday sentiment out on my computer and then cut it out with a nesting die.  I had a rubber stamp that was also a gerbera daisy, and used this to stamp and heat emboss the card black, for a cool, coordinating background.  After positioning everything, I die cut some leaves and scattered a few sequins for a bit of bling :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Digi Choosday – Week 4 ATG

Crafty Gals Corner – #107 ATG

Simon Wednesday Challenge – ATG

As You Like It – Favorite Flower, and why…..Love gerberas because they are so bright and cheerful, and come in such a wide array of colors :)

Wolf Friend

Wolf Friends

EEEEP!!  I didn’t get this posted at anywhere close to the right time!! There still IS  a teeny bit of time left to enter our current challenge at Come and Get It, though. Our theme this time is “No Designer Paper”, and the sponsor is the wonderful Nikki Burnett.

Wolf Friend                                                                                   I used Fallon, supplied by the sponsor :)  I colored it with my Prismacolors, then fussy cut it to go over the embossed (and lightly inked) background. I die cut some birch trees to place over the embossing. I stamped a sentiment on another strip and this finished my project off :)

Third Birthday Bears

Birthday Bears

Hi there!!! It’s time for our first challenge of 2017 over at Come and Get It Challenges :)  Appropriately enough, the theme is “Anything New”.  This gives you a chance to show off some new crafty stash, a new technique…..well…anything new!!! Annnnd, it gives you the chance to win a $15 voucher from the ever popular Bugaboo Stamps!

Third Birthday BearsI was given the adorable Scene It Birthday Bears to use on my card.  Other than the new digi (colored with my SN markers), I also used a new stencil in the background….inked with distress inks; new ribbon, and a new fold  :)  I perked the card up a bit with some blue glitter on the number 3, and some balloons, that I cut with my Cricut, then added Glossy Accents to.  Hope you like it, and that you can join me and the fabulous design team in our Anything New challenge!! :)

Fishbowl

Best Fishes

Oops!! I’m late in posting my card for the new challenge at Creative Fingers :( Hopefully, it’s better later than never!!!  As always, our bi-weekly challenge is ATG, so whatever your creativity produces, we would love to see!  Our sponsors this time are Scrappers Delights and Art By Miran.

Fishbowl

I was given the Fishbowl set from the fabulous Scrappers Delights to work with. I love this set, because there are so many elements, which leave endless possibilities to create with!! I merged a number of the elements in the fishbowl, then colored it up with my SN markers. I then printed an empty fishbowl on acetate, and colored the ‘water’ on that. Of course, the glass look doesn’t show on my picture!!! Isn’t that always the way?  I cut it out and stuck it to an easel base. Some twine, a sentiment and another coral image complete this card :)

Courtney's Kitties

More Kitties :)

Hello there!! I hope everyone had a great week, and is ready for the new challenge at Come and Get It Challenges :)  Our theme this week is Lots of Layers – a great way to use up scraps, I find.  The sponsor is

who have some fabulous images for the lucky winner to choose from.

Courtney's KittiesI used Cat/Kittens from our sponsor.  I’ve been practicing my fur coloring lately, and this was a great image to continue with :)  I used my Spectrum Noir markers, with a few touch up/accents with a very fine point Micron pen.  I work with a girl who loooooves kitties, and the color pink, so made this into a birthday card for her.  I die cut the backing of the cats from a pretty pink polka dot print, then found 2 other coordinating prints for some of the other layers. I stitched around the edges of these pieces to add a bit of definition.  Everything was matted on white card stock, which I edge distressed and inked.  The flowers were from my stash, as was the ribbon (I was going to go with MORE pink for the ribbon, but the lime green really popped, and coordinated well with the flowers).  I added some adhesive pearls to finish the card off.
