Blast Off

OMG!! I totally had this card scheduled wrong :(

Hello, it’s time for a new challenge at CRAFT, where our theme is Add Ribbon and Sparkle :)  Our sponsors this time are

and

for Star of the Month:

Digital Delights

I’ve been given the adorable Birthday Alien Andy by Digital Delights to work with.  I colored him with my SN markers, then fussy cut him out and popped him on a sparkly die cut background that I wrapped a ribbon around and tied a stamped tag to.  Before placing it on the card blank, I used a couple small star outline stamps to cover the background, then filled them in silver glitter.

I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:

Whimsie Doodles - Masculine Makes

Aud Sentiments - #183 For a Child + a Sentiment

Send a Smile 4 Kids - Birthday Fun 4 Kids

Create and Inspire - #63 ATG with option of Tag, You’re It

Mermaid Wishes

Mermaid Wishes

Mermaid WishesHi there!! I’m celebrating Canada Day by hiding in my apartment, crafting, while about 60,000 people party about a half a block away!!  I colored this image Ribbon Mermaid, from Aurora Wings, during the week at work….I love that I can do stuff like that at work, when it’s slow, because I certainly can’t seem to find time any other way!!  I took different color groupings of SN markers, and my trusty white and sparkle gel pens each day, and finally got this beauty finished!  I think the guys at work would look if I started dragging my other tools to work, so I assembled this at home :)  I die cut various foliage pieces, using Tim Holtz, Cottage Cuts and Savvy dies, and a sea horse with a Spellbinders die.  I love the look of  cheesecloth on a mermaid card, so draped a strip around the image.  I finished of with some shells cut with a Marianne die, a sentiment that was pre cut, and a smattering of pearls.  I love the colors on this card, they remind me of a summers day at the beach :)

Level Up

Level Up!!

Level UpGood morning!! I had an order for a young man who was turning 14, and was crazy about video games.  I knew that KennyK Stamps had just the image, and before I could go and buy it, I won it on one of the many good-bye games they are having on their Facebook Group!  I did, however, manage to go a bit overboard on the budget that I’d set for myself when I went shopping….the sale is just too good, and it’s the last chance to get these images!!  I colored Boy Gamer up with my SN markers, and was sitting around trying to decide on layout, when I got a panic text, saying the birthday was the next day, not in a week, like she thought!!  Of course this was 15 minutes before company arrived!  I set into motion, FAST, the image was about 75% colored, so I finished,  found paper, started cutting and laying out! My company sat and laughed as I printed a sentiment on the computer, added a sticker number – that I added Glossy Accents to for dimension – and some silver adhesive balls.  I’m happy with how this turned out, especially since it’s one of the fastest cards I’ve ever made.  What’s more important, the recipient loved it, as well :)

Birthday Elegance

Twisted Elegance

Birthday EleganceHi there :) Today I have my first twisted easel card!! I don’t believe I haven’t made one before, as I love the look!  I used the stunning Camellia image from Aurora Wings, and colored it in my all time favorite color combination. I just purchased the lattice die, part of a set – Butterfly and Lattice – from Sizzix. I can tell that this die will be getting a lot of use!! I dug through my flowers, and didn’t have any that were the “right” shade of red, so I touched a few up with my markers :)  I arranged the flowers over a die cut fluorish by Cheery Lynn.  I wasn’t sure what to do for a sentiment, but came across the “enjoy” in my stash, and paired it up with the Happy Birthday, that I inherited from my mom’s stash when she died….the set that it comes from is probably close to 50 years old!!

I’d like to enter the following challenges with this card:

Power Poppy – Frame It Up

Incy Wincy – Black & White plus One Other Color

Double D – Flowers Galore

Dance!

Dance!

Dance!I finally had a good excuse to buy and color this gorgeous Flamenco image, from Sheepski Designs!  A friend ordered a birthday card for her sister, who has just completed lessons, and whose favorite color is blue.  I colored the image with Prismacolors, giving the dress a gradient of blue and teal. I die cut her out, and framed her with a pretty, lacy frame.  For the background, I did an emboss resist, using a music score stamp and blue and teal Distress Inks. I messed around with embellishments for quite awhile, before settling on a simple sentiment on a tag, a sheer ribbon and bow over a blue strip of paper, and some rhinestones to coordinate with the dress.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

I have another card today, this one using the absolutely adorable Annabelle by Conie Fong. With green being the “color” for March, I decided to do this card up in that color scheme as much as possible.  I colored the image with my SN markers, and distressed the edges, then got to work trying to find papers and embellishments.  The background paper is a big leaf print, which you can’t really see, but the color was what I was looking for.  I knew I had some basket weave texture paper, which I wanted to use, and, luckily found in my ever growing stash.  I wanted a lighter green piece, and found a piece of Whitewash Core-dination paper, but the whitewashed part was too light so flipped it over.  A doily and some lace finished off the foundation of the card.  I have a huge jar of diecut flowers that I can never seem to find a use for, so I shaped and layered them, to mirror the flowers in Annabelle’s basket.  A few punched leaves, pearls, pretty green ribbon and bow,  and a stamped sentiment finished this card off :)

Sneaky Birthday

Sneaky Wishes

Hello there :)  I seriously don’t know where the time is going, it’s looking like spring outside, and March is almost gone!! We also have a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. for you this week, and the theme is Add a Charm.  I find that I often forget about my stash of charms, so this is a great time to dig some up :)  We have the wonderful Sami Stamps

sponsoring us for the last time.  We wish you all the best, as you devote your time to family and your personal life :)

Sneaky Birthday

I used the adorable image Sneaky Whiskers, from our sponsor.  This stamp is so versatile, that I was hard pressed to decide on which idea to use for my project!!  I colored the kitties up and then fussy cut them out to use  later.  I cut the sentiment with my Cricut, using my oldest cartridge, Don Juan.  I found some funky coordinating papers in stripes and dots, and arranged them, using some plain card stock in colors from the print.  I then carefully positioned the cats so they were peeking out from some letters, and taking center stage at the bottom of the sentiment.  I found a mouse charm, which was perfect to hang from one of the impish kitties mouths. It needed a bit “more”, so I added some stitching around the block letters and some silver studs.

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge – #190 Boy’s Birthday

You’re 4

Hello!! It’s hard to believe that it’s the for another challenge over at Come and Get It!! Our theme this time is Cards For Kids, and we are sponsored by the generous PaperNest Dolls.

Our Badge

I must confess, time got away on me, and this was a late make!!

You're 4

I used Ballerina Emma, and colored her up with my SN markers. Yesterday it was feeling very spring like here (today, not so much, with about 6″ of snow overnight), so I used soft pastel colors. I used scraps from 2 different paper collections, and cut the number 4 out with my Cricut. I used a die from Elizabeth Craft  for the bunting. Pink ribbon bows, some yellow flowers, a Brad and glitter glue pulled everything together, ready for the fussy cut image to dance onto the card :)

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Choosday – Week 9 ATG

Creative Knockouts – #183 Die/Punch Frenzy

Cute Card Thursday - #467 ATG

Birthday Swing

Swing Into Spring

HiBirthday Swing there! Today, I have a card made with Ching Chou Kuik‘s Gentle As A Breeze. There is a challenge in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group where participants use this image to make a project.  I actually made a card with this stamp previously, but learned that wine does not go well with coloring! I wasn’t happy with it, so I got my SN markers out and made this one :) With the colors of the image being so bright, I opted for leaving the rest of the card quite subdued. Some embossed paper for the background, a Poopy Stamps birthday die,  pearls, and a few white bows was all this spring-like card needed :) I hope you like it!!

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:
