Sweet Friend

Sweet Friend

Sweet FriendHello!! I recently won this image from Conie Fong :)  Braids In My Hair really wowed me when it was first released – but I had so many projects in the works that I never got around to getting it…when I won it, I was more than thrilled, and got right to it :)  I colored her up with my Prismacolor pencils, then sat and looked at the finished product, waiting for inspiration to hit!! Conie has a challenge to use ribbon on her Facebook group, so that was a starting point.  I wanted to do something a bit different with the ribbon, so I made some flowers from a pale yellow grosgrain that I had in my stash.  I stitched some seed pearls and a pink bead to the centers to coordinate with the yellow flowers in the image.  I had ONE pink rose left which was perfect here :)  The fern leaves are cut with a Frantic Stamper die that I just got.  I punched a few little blue blossoms to coordinate with the bow.  Corners were cut with my Cricut (Picturesque), and the butterfly was done using a bargain die that I got off Amazon, great deal, but I waited for forever and a day to receive it.  I stamped a little LDRS sentiment (discontinued) onto a scalloped square (Elegant Edges) with the Cricut, and added a bow from the same ribbon as the flowers.  Some pearls finished this off :)

I’d like to enter this into:

Thank You

Pierced Thank You

Hi there!!! It’s (past) time for another challenge at Come and Get It. I say “past” because I got so confused the last week, and got challenge dates so mixed up – so this is a late post.  I think my brain is getting old before I’m ready!!!  Anyway, our challenge this time is Paper Piercing (not piecing).  As always, we have some wonderful sponsors, and this time around, it’s

offering 3 images, and

Original sentimentalsusan

also offering 3 images!

My teammates have been busy making fabulous inspiration cards for you, so be sure to check their projects out, and prepare to be amazed :)

I was given Butterflies from Sentimental Susan to use on my card.  I colored them up with my SN markers in rainbow hues, and fussy cut them out.  I found a template for paper piercing on Pinterest, and used it on a piece of vellum (love the look of piercing on vellum!!)  I cut around it and mounted it on some olive green cardstock.  Of course, the glue showed on the corners, even though I used special vellum adhesive, so I found some gold ribbon and covered it up :)  I punched about a million little blossoms, layered them and centered them with gold pearls.  The sentiment was stamped, embossed and cut out and placed in the center of the pierced piece.  Positioning the butterflies was the last step I did on this card :)

I hope you like it, and we would love to see your creations at our challenge :)

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Glitterfly

Glitterfly

Wow, is there any possible way to get a decent picture of a card with this much sparkle going on? By the time I finished this little project, it looked like Tinkerbell threw up on me! Glitter everywhere! I used this sketch…..SNSSketch37from this weeks Sketch and Stash challenge. I also saw that the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and Charisma Cards were calling for glitter/sparkle in their current challenges, so I decided to combine them.  I just got some Frantage Mica fragments, and wanted to give them a whirl. I swirled some glue on a white oval and sprinkled some of the Frantage, along with purple glitter on it. I edged the oval with some black and silver shimmer chalk. Then I went digging around for some appropriate accents, and found the butterfly and flower stickers in my sadly neglected sticker stash. They are a transparent glitter sticker, so I stuck the butterflies onto teal paper, and the flowers on to cream, and cut them out. I layered and shaped them to give them some dimension before attaching to the background. This was layered on charcoal card stock, a doily was tucked behind, and a cream ribbon and bow was added. I stuck on some black gems to the flowers to give it a finishing touch. Now, I have to sweep and vacuum for a few weeks to get rid of the residue from the card.
