Here is the one and only “real” Easter card that I made this year. It was a DT make over at Come and Get It Challenges, but my blog was acting up, and not letting me on….and my brain was functioning about as well!! For that challenge, we were kindly sponsored by Polkadoodles, which is where I got this adorable image from, Crocus, from the Darling Bud collection. I colored her up with my SN markers, then added more shading and definition with my Prismacolor pencils. I lightly stenciled a background in with Distress Inks. I had a brain lapse with the edge….was thinking I could just cut an edge border with the die I was using…nope, lol. I pieced the edge in, and quite like the result of my boo boo!! Tied a big fluffy bow, and added the sentiment and a bunch of pearl accents to finish this card off. Another pastel project…..what is coming over me??
I’d like to enter this in:
Deep Ocean Challenge - #152 Easter
Hello!! It’s hard to believe that it’s the for another challenge over at Come and Get It!! Our theme this time is Cards For Kids, and we are sponsored by the generous PaperNest Dolls.
I must confess, time got away on me, and this was a late make!!
I used Ballerina Emma, and colored her up with my SN markers. Yesterday it was feeling very spring like here (today, not so much, with about 6″ of snow overnight), so I used soft pastel colors. I used scraps from 2 different paper collections, and cut the number 4 out with my Cricut. I used a die from Elizabeth Craft for the bunting. Pink ribbon bows, some yellow flowers, a Brad and glitter glue pulled everything together, ready for the fussy cut image to dance onto the card
I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Digi Choosday – Week 9 ATG
Creative Knockouts – #183 Die/Punch Frenzy
Cute Card Thursday - #467 ATG
Gem of a Challenge – #189 Use 3 ‘B’s’ (ballerina, bows, bunting, blooms)
Send a Smile 4 Kids – Spring Colors 4 Kids
EEEEP!! I didn’t get this posted at anywhere close to the right time!! There still IS a teeny bit of time left to enter our current challenge at Come and Get It, though. Our theme this time is “No Designer Paper”, and the sponsor is the wonderful Nikki Burnett.
I used Fallon, supplied by the sponsor I colored it with my Prismacolors, then fussy cut it to go over the embossed (and lightly inked) background. I die cut some birch trees to place over the embossing. I stamped a sentiment on another strip and this finished my project off
Hi there!!! It’s time for our first challenge of 2017 over at Come and Get It Challenges Appropriately enough, the theme is “Anything New”. This gives you a chance to show off some new crafty stash, a new technique…..well…anything new!!! Annnnd, it gives you the chance to win a $15 voucher from the ever popular Bugaboo Stamps!
I was given the adorable Scene It Birthday Bears to use on my card. Other than the new digi (colored with my SN markers), I also used a new stencil in the background….inked with distress inks; new ribbon, and a new fold :) I perked the card up a bit with some blue glitter on the number 3, and some balloons, that I cut with my Cricut, then added Glossy Accents to. Hope you like it, and that you can join me and the fabulous design team in our Anything New challenge!!
Hello there!! I hope everyone had a great week, and is ready for the new challenge at Come and Get It Challenges Our theme this week is Lots of Layers – a great way to use up scraps, I find. The sponsor is
who have some fabulous images for the lucky winner to choose from.
I used Cat/Kittens from our sponsor. I’ve been practicing my fur coloring lately, and this was a great image to continue with I used my Spectrum Noir markers, with a few touch up/accents with a very fine point Micron pen. I work with a girl who loooooves kitties, and the color pink, so made this into a birthday card for her. I die cut the backing of the cats from a pretty pink polka dot print, then found 2 other coordinating prints for some of the other layers. I stitched around the edges of these pieces to add a bit of definition. Everything was matted on white card stock, which I edge distressed and inked. The flowers were from my stash, as was the ribbon (I was going to go with MORE pink for the ribbon, but the lime green really popped, and coordinated well with the flowers). I added some adhesive pearls to finish the card off.
Hello there It’s time for another challenge at Come And Get It. This time, our theme is “Summertime.” We have 3 fantastic sponsors for this week:
Make sure you stop by to see the teams amazing inspiration projects….and leave some love while you’re there
I was given Ice Cream Avery from the PaperNest Dolls to work with. I colored this little cutie up with my SN markers, then fussy cut her out. After assembling a sunburst background, made with shimmer and plain yellow CS, I added a curved border with a stamped sentiment. I placed Avery , then added a glitter circle “sun” – and THOUGHT I was finished!! However, my darling pup decided to help, and got his grubby little nose all over this project while he was checking out what he could fix on the card. So, I had dirty little doggy nose smudges in a few places The image was pretty firmly adhered, so I had to figure out a fix. I re-cut some of the sun rays, and patched over some of the marks, but there was an obvious smudge on the bottom white part…..I covered it up with an ice cream brad….which bothers me to no end, because I liked the clean white portion….I guess an ice cream fits the mood better than dog nose marks
It’s time for another challenge at Come and Get It Challenges This time, we have a fun theme, Buttons and Bows, and we are sponsored by the one and only Bugaboo Stamps! The team has come up with some pretty awesome cards to inspire you for this challenge, so be sure to stop by and see their projects!
I was given the Elephant Christmas Tree image from Bugaboo to work with. I colored this sweetie up with my SN markers, then did some shading with pencils. Then my brain totally went blank, and I just couldn’t figure out what to do!!! I went through piles and piles of paper, numerous sketch ideas, you name it!! I’m not too happy with the result, for some reason, but it has the buttons and bows, and will be a perfect Christmas card for a girl at work who loves elephants
