Hi there!! I got an order for a Graduation card for a young lady who’s an avid dancer. I knew exactly which image I wanted to use – Stardancer, from Aurora Wings was perfect The colors of mint, light blue and bright pink were requested, so I set to work coloring with my Prismacolors. I added accents with a glitter gel pen. I used my pencils to make a swirl background, to go with the movement in the image. With such a gorgeous image, I wanted to keep it as the focal point, by not overdoing the rest of the card with patterns or embellishments. I settled on mint and bright pink glitter paper, using a Frantic Stamper die to make an inlaid die cut border. The sentiment “let your dreams take flight” went so well with the image, and fit the Grad celebration perfectly.

I finally had a good excuse to buy and color this gorgeous Flamenco image, from Sheepski Designs! A friend ordered a birthday card for her sister, who has just completed lessons, and whose favorite color is blue. I colored the image with Prismacolors, giving the dress a gradient of blue and teal. I die cut her out, and framed her with a pretty, lacy frame. For the background, I did an emboss resist, using a music score stamp and blue and teal Distress Inks. I messed around with embellishments for quite awhile, before settling on a simple sentiment on a tag, a sheer ribbon and bow over a blue strip of paper, and some rhinestones to coordinate with the dress.
