I hope you can have a bit of fun creating your own background, and join us for a chance to win a prize from one of these fabulous stores :)

The Little Things

I used Image 21 from Oddball Art for my card.  I colored her up, using my SN markers, then colored in a background, inspired by a Kit and Clowder pencil class, but I did it in markers :)  I added a tree silhouette, that I cut with my Cricut, and stamped a sentiment from a set that I forgot I had.  Matted the image and put it on the card base.  :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Polkadoodles Challenge – Week 26/27 ATG

I knew I just NEEDED this strawberry image, as soon as I saw it!! Brings back memories of berry picking with my parents :) I colored them with my SN markers, taking tips on the techniques from the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class. After matting it with red, I placed it on a square die cut doily.  A cute gingham background paper, paired with some burlap and Rik Rac were all this card needed for the image to shine through!

Be sure to check out the rest of Andrea’s amazing designs at the Sheepski Designs shop. And we’d love you to join us at the Facebook group, where you can enter the monthly challenge.  Sheepski Designs also has a challenge blog where you could enter to double your chances at winning!! Rusty Lavender

Rusty Lavender

Rusty LavenderHi there!  I had this image, from the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class, colored up for a while.  I had an order for a birthday card, with the recipient’s favorite color being purple.  I don’t generally leave images card-less, so it was a perfect time to use it :) With the jug being rusty, I thought “old” and “distressed”, so went with that.  I distressed all the edges, and inked things up with some Distress Inks. The background paper is from an Old World stack, and the lace, velvet ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

I’m entering the following challenges with this card:

Hi there!!  My card today has been travelling the world for a while, en route to Australia.  I made this for Alyce at Kit and Clowder, as a thank you for all the support and encouragement that she gives to us Clowdies!!! The image is from KennyK Stamps, and can be found HERE.  I colored her up with my SN markers, then matted the image on some paper that matched her jacket.  I die cut some teal flourishes with a Couture Creations die, and added some flowers to coordinate with the rest of the card.  Everything was put on an backing paper that we embossed with a Darice embossing folder.  A bit of sparkly ribbon, some blingy centres for the flowers, white gel pen accents, and a stamped sentiment finish this card off :)

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Birthday Swing

Swing Into Spring

HiBirthday Swing there! Today, I have a card made with Ching Chou Kuik‘s Gentle As A Breeze. There is a challenge in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group where participants use this image to make a project.  I actually made a card with this stamp previously, but learned that wine does not go well with coloring! I wasn’t happy with it, so I got my SN markers out and made this one :) With the colors of the image being so bright, I opted for leaving the rest of the card quite subdued. Some embossed paper for the background, a Poopy Stamps birthday die,  pearls, and a few white bows was all this spring-like card needed :) I hope you like it!!

Gerberas

Celebrating…YOU

GerberasHi there!! Today, I have a card that I made for a special friend to celebrate her birthday…much like we celebrate the fact that she is a part of our lives <3  I used the gerbera daisies that came with the Kit and Clowder’s “Elements of Nature” class.  Some are colored with my SN markers, and the others are with my Prismacolors, but all with the same techniques :)  I fussy cut them out and set them aside while I did a watercolor wash on some paper, then added salt to give it some texture and design.  I printed a big birthday sentiment out on my computer and then cut it out with a nesting die.  I had a rubber stamp that was also a gerbera daisy, and used this to stamp and heat emboss the card black, for a cool, coordinating background.  After positioning everything, I die cut some leaves and scattered a few sequins for a bit of bling :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

BFF

Kitty Love

BFFGood morning!! Hope everything is going well for you, as we go into a new week!  Today I have a card for you this was made for a challenge on the Kit and Clowder Facebook group, using this sweet image from Some Odd Girl.  I colored Crazy Love Tia with my SN markers – which have been feeling a bit neglected since I got my Prismacolors!  I paper-pieced her jacket and jeans with some scraps that I had on hand, and shaded these pieces with my markers.  I also added some “tears” in the jeans with some white gel pen (that wasn’t working too well).  I found the adorable paper with the paws in hearts, and knew it would be perfect for this card!!  It coordinated with the denim print paper that I also used.  I found the circular “friend” sentiment – one that I’ve had for years, and have never used before!! The paw border was from the same paper collection as the heart background paper, and the punched border incorporated more hearts :) I added a sprinkling of brads in one of the corners for some balance, and called this card done :)

Over the Moon

Over The Moon

Hey there!! It’s time for a new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T.   Our theme is Love/Valentines/Anniversary this time around, and we have

All Dressed Up stamps sponsoring us.  Try to make some time to check out the LOVEly makes of my fellow DT members :)

Over the MoonI used the sweet Over the Moon image from the sponsor. I colored it with my Prismacolors, with touches of Wink of Stella on her dress and veil, then decided to use the background technique from the latest monthly pencil class over at Kit and Clowder. The colors are way different than what’s used in the class, but that’s the nice thing, the techniques can be applied to any project in any color.  The papers are some that I just purchased a while ago, when some of my friends and I went on a road trip to the only scrapbooking store in the area.  I took the metallic bits from the paper pattern, and used some gold mirror cardstock to mat everything and to cut the Mr. and Mrs. with my Cricut.  Some gold ribbon and a rose finish this card off…..the layout was inspired by this sketch:

over at Tuesday Morning Sketches :)
