Sail Away

Ahoy There!!

Sail AwayGood morning!!! It’s Sunday, and that means that it’s time for another challenge over at Come And Get It Challenges :)  We have a super fun theme this week, and it’s “Nautical”.  Our generous sponsor for the challenge is Papernest Dolls.

Our Badge

I was given Sailor Owen to work with for my DT project, and chose to go with the traditional red, white and navy color scheme.  After coloring the image with my SN markers, I cut a cloud shaped top, then inked in some clouds for a background.  I have been hoarding this nautical paper for a while, and this was the perfect card to use it on!! I just received this Memory Box die in the mail…talk about good timing!!  I layered it with a bit of cheesecloth, then grabbed on of the wooden anchor embellishments that I snagged at Michael’s in the $1.50 bins :)

Knight in shining armor

Knight In Shining Armor

Knight in shining armorHello!! I’m so dreadfully behind with my blogging!! I guess it’s the next thing in my life I have to get organized…been doing pretty good with everything else I’ve got into a schedule of sorts :)

I made this for the current challenge over at C.R.A.F.T.  Our theme this time is Father’s Day/Male Cards. We have the fabulous  Dr. Digi House of Stamps

as the challenge sponsor, and will be choosing our Star of the Month, sponsored by Star Stampz :)

I was given The Dragon and the Knight, from Star Stampz to use on my card.  I colored the image with my SN markers, then dig around and found some bright papers to complete the layout, inspired by this sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

2 ribbon scraps and a sentiment that I tinted on the computer with the image finish the card off. The inside says “you’re my knight in shining armor”.  I hope you can join us this time at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge with your male makes!

Muddy Dad

#1 Dad

Muddy DadHi there!! Another week has flown by, and it’s time for another challenge at C.R.A.F.T.   This time, we’re having fun with 3D Decoupage.  Our fabulous sponsor is KennyK Stamps, so we got to rock it with these cool images.  I was given Cool Trucker to work with. After coloring (and coloring) with my SN markers, I fussy cut all the layers I needed. I positioned the image so it was driving out of a window cut into the background…embossed with a Spellbinders folder and inked with Distress Inks.  I cut the mud splat with a Tim Holtz die, added a few more random spots, then coated it with Glossy Accents. Dad and the road sign were cut with my Cricut.  Loving how this turned out….reminds me of quadding with the guys in my younger years :)

DawgCS

Birthday Dawg :)

OK, this didn’t publish when it was supposed to!!

Todays card is for the current ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers.  We are sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo stamps.  Since our challenge is always ATG, make sure you check it out!! There is always wonderful inspiration projects from the DT, and we would love to see your creations :)

Dawg

I was given the Bugaboo image, Rottweiler Puppy Hello to work with.  I have a birthday coming up for a guy at work, so decided to kill two birds with one stone, and make my DT project a card for him!!  I colored the pup with my SN markers, then fussy cut him out.  I went rummaging through my paper stash, and found these papers – they were on a 12 x 12 sheet, with 4 different, coordinating prints.  I  punched a border and the sentiment from the same solid CS that I matted everything with, popped the dog on with foam dots, and added some brads to the corners :) (Love the fire hydrant – I forget what cool brads I have stashed away, lol).  Hope you like it :)

No Fishing

Gone Fishing

Time for another “just for fun” card :)  I saw this image at QKR Stampede, and immediately thought “paper piecing”!!!  It’s sort of like playing with paper dolls all over again :) I used up a bunch of scraps to paper piece his clothes, then colored the rest, and did some shading with my SN markers on the pieced parts.  I used more scraps of some of the same paper in the layout.  I fired up my Cricut and cut the tag, the fishing rod and the fish, then strung them all together with some black floss.  I’m really loving how this turned out :) :)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

QKR Stampede – Paper Piecing
