Good morning My card today features the absolutely adorable Puppy in Boot, by Mitzi at Aurora Wings. She very graciously offers this as a freebie on her Facebook group, where there is so much inspiration!! I don’t kn ow about you, but when I think of Aurora Wings, my brain automatically goes to beautiful floral images, mermaids, and of course, Sprites!! Mitzi’s animals are so freakin’ adorable, that they should certainly be given the limelight!! So, that’s why I chose this pup for the card! I colored him up with my SN markers and did some light chalking in the background. I had a bunch of co-ordinating scraps of DP that were perfect for this card, so I started layering away I was quite excited, because the band/belt/?? embellishment that I’ve been saving for all these years made a perfect little doggie collar embellie Of course every dog collar needs a tag, so I die cut one from mirror card, then “engraved” the message on to it. I balanced everything out with some silver adhesive baubles.
I’d like to enter this in:
Aurora Wings Challenge Blog – #53 ATG
This card was especially made for my daughter’s boyfriend’s birthday. Warren loves puppies, Warren wants a puppy, Warren gets a puppy……card. Once again, I dove into the stash and found stuff I forgot I had. The puppy stamp is from a WONDERFUL grab bag I received, full of about 15 very detailed dog stamps. Problem is, I can’t find that site again. I colored it with pencil crayons and blended with odorless paint thinner. I found the 2 papers hiding, waiting to be used, too (no idea who made it). The sentiment stamp is from Michaels (I remember SOME stuff!). I matted everything with charcoal card stock and finished it off with red jute twine (Michaels), dog collar and rope bone embellishment (Buttons Galore), and silver studs (picked off a defective top at work ). I used this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, for their challenge… I’m also entering it into A Gem of a Challenge, which asks us to use gingham ribbon or paper. Annnnd, since I’m using stuff that has been sitting around for eons (stamp, paper, embellishments), I will also enter this in the Oldie but a Goodie challenge, which calls for a masculine card. This site challenges us to USE our stuff that’s been sitting around for 6 months or more – what a novel idea!
