Hi there, I hope this finds everyone visiting well!! It’s time for a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. this week, and we have a fun recipe challenge this time:
We have the one and only Rick St. Dennis as our ever generous sponsor
The DT was supplied with their choice of images to work with for inspiration, and I chose Make a New Friend. This pair gave me a chuckle when I first saw it, and I thought it would be a fun one to have a play with I tried to give the cat a tabby look when coloring with my SN markers, don’t know if it’s really tabby, but I like it anyway!! I had this paper for quite some time, and this seemed to be the perfect card to use it up on!! It all coordinates, but I don’t know where it’s from, as it was floating around in one of my baskets! I had the paw print ribbon, but was at a loss for what to do for the second ribbon required for the recipe. I found the thin green and quite happy with the funky effect I got by just tying pieces around the paw print strip. I added a button in the middle, then remembered these speech brads that I’ve had since the Stone Age….I think the words expressed by both cat and mouse are perfect!! I hope you can join us at C.R.A.F.T. this week to show us how you made out with our recipe
I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
SUYP – #18 Furry-thing goes with optional Birthday
The Ribbon Girls – May Use Any Image

Hi there!! As we ease into February, we also have a new ATG challenge at Creative Fingers for the next 2 weeks. We have a regular sponsor, the fabulous Rick St. Dennis!
There is soooo much to choose from at his store, that it’s more than worth your while to enter for a chance to win one of his fantastic images!
I was in a “mood” when I got this stamp…..you can only guess what kind!! Lol! The mood passed, so I decided to make a Get Well card. The inside of this card says “…..that you’re feeling crappy”. I printed the image onto kraft paper, and colored it with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment was printed at the same time as the image. I wanted “something” to embellish it, and came up with a roll of toilet paper, rather than ribbon or bling I cut a strip of paper, ran it through with my perforating blade to make the squares, then rolled it up. I tore a few sheets off….just because Hopefully this card will elicit a smile from the recipient!
Good morning!! It’s time for another challenge over at C.R.A.F.T. Where does the time go?? It’s hard to believe that we’re already into February of this year!! We will be choosing the “Star of the Month” over at C.R.A.F.T., and we have the fabulous Rick St. Dennis sponsoring us for the star.
Our challenge will be sponsored by the wonderful Crafty Ribbons
The team have used images by RSD, so be sure to check them out and leave some love
Our challenge this week is this inspiration picture:
so, whatever inspires you from this picture to get creative, use it!!! If it itsn’t really obvious where your inspiration comes from, make sure to let us know in your blog post
I used the image Bird of Paradise, as I was obviously inspired by the bird I was going to stick with the color scheme, but then all the pretty colored pencils started to call to me!! One word of advice, with detailed images such as the ones like this, don’t print them so small!!! I almost went blind coloring this lovely lady in! After coloring her with my Prismacolors, and smuging some chalk in the background to ground her a bit, I moved on to the rest of the card. I used a feather embossing folder on the bright green background, then wrapped some sheer black ribbon around the card. I tied a fluffy bow, and it needed “something” …… and I’m not one to put flowers on everything, so I muddled over it, and rummaged around until I found the bag of feathers that I got the beauties I used from. A few black enamel dots (eep, almost out!!), and a stamped sentiment finish this card off
