Here is the one and only “real” Easter card that I made this year. It was a DT make over at Come and Get It Challenges, but my blog was acting up, and not letting me on….and my brain was functioning about as well!! For that challenge, we were kindly sponsored by Polkadoodles, which is where I got this adorable image from, Crocus, from the Darling Bud collection. I colored her up with my SN markers, then added more shading and definition with my Prismacolor pencils. I lightly stenciled a background in with Distress Inks. I had a brain lapse with the edge….was thinking I could just cut an edge border with the die I was using…nope, lol. I pieced the edge in, and quite like the result of my boo boo!! Tied a big fluffy bow, and added the sentiment and a bunch of pearl accents to finish this card off. Another pastel project…..what is coming over me??

I’m on a posting roll, lately! This card was made with the gorgeous image, Orchid in Spring, by Ching Chou Kuik. I absolutely adore this (and all CCK’s) image! I colored her with my SN markers, then used this sketch
From Cheerful Sketches, as my layout guide. I’m venturing into the dreaded world of pastel colors, again. I’m going to beat this “fear” of pale colors yet!! I used some papers from a DCWV stack, some for the background, and some for the die cut shape on the corner of the image; a doily, some die cut flourishes, and butterflies cut with my Cricut. I mounted the image on a tag shape, that I punched the edge and top with. A simple sentiment was stamped along the top, then some strips of bling added. After assembling the card, but before adhering the butterflies, it became apparent that my love of glitter was taking over, so I added glitter all over the butterflies I love the effect!!

I have another card today, this one using the absolutely adorable Annabelle by Conie Fong. With green being the “color” for March, I decided to do this card up in that color scheme as much as possible. I colored the image with my SN markers, and distressed the edges, then got to work trying to find papers and embellishments. The background paper is a big leaf print, which you can’t really see, but the color was what I was looking for. I knew I had some basket weave texture paper, which I wanted to use, and, luckily found in my ever growing stash. I wanted a lighter green piece, and found a piece of Whitewash Core-dination paper, but the whitewashed part was too light so flipped it over. A doily and some lace finished off the foundation of the card. I have a huge jar of diecut flowers that I can never seem to find a use for, so I shaped and layered them, to mirror the flowers in Annabelle’s basket. A few punched leaves, pearls, pretty green ribbon and bow, and a stamped sentiment finished this card off

Hello!! It’s hard to believe that it’s March already!! It came in like a lamb here in Saskatchewan, so I hope this month doesn’t like up to the whole “in like a lion, out like a lamb” and vice versa thing! We have a new challenge over at the C.R.A.F.T. challenge blog today, and this time it’s a sketch challenge, using a sketch by our fabulous DT member Sheryl
It’s a very versatile sketch that can be interpreted quite a few ways, as you can see, if you check out the amazing creations that the DT has made this week!! We have 2 sponsors for our challenge:
And, seeing as how we are at the beginning of the month, it’s that time that we will be announcing our “Star of the Month”, which is sponsored by
I used a beautiful spring image from Sweet n’ Sassy for my card. Nothing says spring quite like tulips do!! I colored the image up with my SN markers. The diagonal strip is a die cut, cut with a Memory Box die. I added a little bee and some enamel dots, then stamped and embossed the sentiment. Done!! I hope you can stop by and have some fun with us, and try this sketch out!

Hi there! Today, I have a card made with Ching Chou Kuik‘s Gentle As A Breeze. There is a challenge in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group where participants use this image to make a project. I actually made a card with this stamp previously, but learned that wine does not go well with coloring! I wasn’t happy with it, so I got my SN markers out and made this one With the colors of the image being so bright, I opted for leaving the rest of the card quite subdued. Some embossed paper for the background, a Poopy Stamps birthday die, pearls, and a few white bows was all this spring-like card needed I hope you like it!!
