I Do

I Do

I DoI am loving this sketch, from The Sketchy Challenges, so much, that I had to make ONE more card with it (doubt it will be the last one!!).

I used an image from Sweet Escapes, sadly I’m not seeing it in the shop any longer, but I’m so happy to have it, as it makes a lovely focal point for a wedding card!! After coloring the roses, I added some Wink of Stella to the bride’s dress, and some pearl jewellery.  I fussy cut the image out, the assembled the card, following the sketch, and using all kinds of scraps of paper that I had :)  The sentiment and the silver accents are from a sticker set that I recently dug up from deep in my stash, some pearls, and the silver edging on the panels are peel off strips.  It’s great to be a bit more prepared for the last minute wedding cards that people always seem to need!!

Wedding Flamingos

Flamingo Wedding

Wedding FlamingosHello! Here is my card for the current challenge at Come and Get It.  Our theme this week is Weddings, so it’s a great time to make up a card for wedding season.  Our generous sponsor is Di’s Digistamps.

I was snooping around on the net, and came across this cute wedding couple at The Hungry JPEG. I merged the various elements of the set, then added a “congrats” sentiment to the banner. I sot of mirrored the banner shape when cutting out the image. I used a sheet of double sided DP for the background, cutting strips of the reverse side as a top and bottom border. This card needed a bit of glitz, so I brushed on some Wink of Stella on the veil, added a rhinestone necklace, some silver bows, and matted everything on some silver glitter paper. Love the funky feel of this card with the flamingo couple :)

Congrat Feathers

Feather Congrats

Congrat FeathersI REALLY stepped out of my comfort zone with this card!! Not only does it not have a colored stamp on it, but it is CAS!!! This was partly out of necessity, as my printer was out of ink, and I wanted to get a card into a few challenges.  I recently purchased some new dies….the scribble is a Tim Holtz die, the feathers are some extremely inexpensive no name dies that I found on Amazon, and the sentiment is Tattered Lace .  I threw a few sequins on, and thought it really didn’t need anything else.  I really like the clean and classy look to this, and it will be nice to have a few wedding cards on hand for the summer :)

Over the Moon

Over The Moon

Hey there!! It’s time for a new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T.   Our theme is Love/Valentines/Anniversary this time around, and we have

All Dressed Up stamps sponsoring us.  Try to make some time to check out the LOVEly makes of my fellow DT members :)

Over the MoonI used the sweet Over the Moon image from the sponsor. I colored it with my Prismacolors, with touches of Wink of Stella on her dress and veil, then decided to use the background technique from the latest monthly pencil class over at Kit and Clowder. The colors are way different than what’s used in the class, but that’s the nice thing, the techniques can be applied to any project in any color.  The papers are some that I just purchased a while ago, when some of my friends and I went on a road trip to the only scrapbooking store in the area.  I took the metallic bits from the paper pattern, and used some gold mirror cardstock to mat everything and to cut the Mr. and Mrs. with my Cricut.  Some gold ribbon and a rose finish this card off…..the layout was inspired by this sketch:

Mr. & Mrs.

mrmrs.jpg Here’s a wedding card I made for my nephew and his new bride. I used their wedding colors with silver and cream accents. The roses and silver accents are dollar store finds ( what can I say, I’m thrifty ☺). I embossed the green and mauve panels with a  Spellbinders embossing folder. I rubbed the high points with silver Inka Gold Metallic Rub. I finished it off by matting everything with black card stock, and adding some punched greenery and silver ribbon. I used this sketch SS313-2014-AlexDT from the Sketch Saturday challenge.
