Holly Fairy

Hi there 🙂 This was what you would call a real last minute card! I had made all the cards that had to be mailed, and was making the ones that I was handing out as needed. Well, this one was down to the wire, as I finished it off about half an hour before my friend showed up on boxing day!! Whatever works during the holidays, right? I used the gorgeous freebie from Janna Fairy Art that was given out in the Kit and Clowder Advent event on Facebook. I had chosen my papers, so when I colored the image with my Copics, I took care to match them up as closely as possible.

The starry paper has glitter elements, so I brought a bit of that into the image with some Wink of Stella and a bit of sparkle on the wings. After layering all the elements together, I stamped a sentiment and die cut some holly to add to the design. For just a bit more sparkle, I added a couple strips of glittery embelishments as a finishing touch.

Pine and Bells

Hi there 🙂 When I saw this new image set from Power Poppy, I just knew I had to have it!!! I colored Mighty Pine with my Copics, then cut it out with a pretty die. I played around with some more Copic colors, and the colorless blender, to make a funky background for the image.

I found this sketch at Cheerful Sketches challenge, and loved the layout.

When I was browsing in the Dollar Store before Christmas, I found a small card stock pad of Christmas prints, and one of them was the lovely pine print I used here. For the other layers in the card, I used the colors of the bow and the bells in the image. I added dots around the gold piece for a bit more definition and interest. For a touch of Christmas bling, I added a few square rhinestones in the corner.

Wreck the Halls

Hi there 🙂 My son adopted a kitty this year, so of course I had to keep that in mind with his Christmas card! When I saw the Meowy Christmas set from Graciellie Designs, I just had to use it!! I merged the image onto a tile background from Angie Blom, to make it look as if the kitty was coming out of a chimney. I colored everything up with my Copics and added a bit of sparkle on the fur on the hat, and some Wink of Stella snow in the background.

I used a part of a sentiment from the Meowy Christmas set, the full sentiment says “Wreck the Halls and blame the dog”, but Corbin proudly takes credit for all the destruction in my son’s place!! I was humming the song the whole time I was making the card, lol! I cut out the sentiment, and added a little bow with a bell. I think that Corbin liked the card –

Christmas Stocking

Hi there 🙂 Another CAS Christmas card. I used the adorable freebie from Conie Fong, that was a gift in the Kit and Clowder Facebook group Advent event. If you missed out on the event, you can also purchase this cute image here. I colored it with my Copics, then cut it out with a cool slimline die.

I added a dark green matting and a matching die cut sentiment. I sat back and looked at the card, wondering “what else?”, and the answer was NOTHING!! The CAS design perfectly showcases the festive image!

Poinsettia Glow

Hi there 🙂 I hope everyone had a good Christmas!! I’m trying to get my cards all blogged, now that they’ve been received! This one is a fairly simple traditional one, featuring a pretty image from Sheepski Designs. I colored up Christmas Candle with my Copics, then cut it out with an oval die, fussy cutting the overhanging parts.

The background paper has little gold foil dots on it, so I decided to bring that into the rest of the card. I matted the image and background with gold mirror card, and die cut the sentiment from the same. A little bit of chunky gold glitter was added to the centres of the flowers 🙂

Panda’s Gifts

Hi there 🙂 Merry Christmas!! This card is special for two reasons. First, it’s my card for our special holiday post at Creative Fingers Challenge Blog. We would like to thank everyone for supporting our challenges throughout the year, and extra special thanks to our sponsors for donating prizes!!! We want to wish each and every one of you the happiest of holidays, and all the very best in 2023!! Don’t forget to pop over to our Blog Candy post, for a chance to win some fab prizes from 3 of our DT members 🙂 The second reason this card is special, is that it’s made for my “adopted” daughter, my kiddo bear, who loves pandas!

I couldn’t find a Christmas panda image that I haven’t used before, so I had fun with this image from Di’s Digi Stamps. It must have been a freebie at some point, because I can’t find it in the store. I used my Copics to color a teddy bear in panda colors, and love how well it turned out!!! I added some designs with white Posca, and some Pearl Accents to give the fur on the hat some dimension, then made the snow sparkle!

I die cut a gift border (love this die, as it can be used for Christmas or birthday!), and cut the bottom edge of the card blank to match the curve of the die. After layering some different papers together with the image, I die cut a sentiment. Then it was time to have some fun with glitter!! I filled in the gifts in different colors, and added glitter to the lettering of the sentiment for some fun Christmas sparkle 🙂

Penguin Wishes

Hi there 🙂 Every year, I make a card for our office to send to our affiliate office in a nearby city. I like to use an image that features a group of something, so this year I chose to work with these penguins! I have no idea who the image is from, because I found it in one of my files, and didn’t write it down 🙁 I have almost 300 files for different digi stamp artists, and I went through some, but don’t have the time to go looking through them all! Maybe if I re-named all my stamps with keywords, it would help? If I figure it out, or if anyone can help me with the artist name, I’ll definitely update my post ASAP!! I colored this cute group up with my Copics, then fussy cut them out. For a line-up such as this, a slimline card is the perfect choice! I chose some coordinating background paper, then die cut some snowflakes and the sentiment. For the sentiment, I inlaid the Christmas word for some definition.

Vintage Holly

Well, I’m getting into a groove of blogging a Christmas card every morning when I have my coffee….and today’s is a vintage themed one. The pretty holly image is from the now closed Stitchy Bear Stamps – one I’ve had for years, and never got around to using. I colored it with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I cut out a piece of a Christmas music sheet, and inked over it lightly with some Distress Ink. For the background, I found some woodgrain and snowflake printed paper in my stash. To add a bit of holiday sparkle, I die cut a sentiment and matted the background with some gold sparkle card stock. For just a bit more sparkle, I took a gold glitter pen and edged the ribbon with a bit of it.

Santa Paws

Hi there 🙂 Now that this card has reached it’s destination, I can share it here. When I saw the image Santa Paws, from Mo’s Digital Pencil, the pup reminded me of my own Java – before he gets a haircut! I had to do it up for my kid – even though Eden says that he is the “worst” dog, it’s said with a twinkle in the eye, and they always sing duets together <3 I colored the image with my Copics, matching up Java’s colors as close as I could.

I wanted to do a card that was a bit different, so went with one that has a see through side on the front (look at me talking all technical lol). I used a buffalo plaid on the 2 panels on the front, to match my kid and their partners matching Christmas pj’s. I attached the image, then used a Tim Holtz die to cut some holly. I carefully positioned the holly over the space, and along the panels before adding some berries.

You can see the “space” a bit better here.

I added some clear Nuvo drops to the berries for some dimension, then popped on a stamped sentiment to finish the card off.

Seasonal Snooze

Hi there 🙂 Only 5 more days to go, and I’m finishing the last few cards off for people that I’ll be seeing during the next week. I love this adorable fairy taking a nap on a candy cane from Whimsy Stamps digital collection! I colored Christmas Dreaming up with my Copics, then cut it out with a circular die, fussy cutting a few pieces to overlap the wreath.

The wings of a fairy, in my opinion, always need a bit of sparkle and shimmer, so I added some Wink of Stella to these. I tried to get a picture of the shimmer.

I die cut the wreath, then used the shadow part of the die set to cut out the card base. I love the shape of this card!! After layering everything together with the image, I stamped a sentiment, and added some red pearl “berries”. A pretty red bow finishes this card off – and it stays relatively flat for mailing!
