Birthday Unicorn

Hi there πŸ™‚ It’s time for another ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. This challenge will be a month long, as many are going on vacation πŸ™‚ We are thrilled to have a brand new sponsor!!! LC Waterworth has kindly provided the DT with some images, and will be supplying the prize this time πŸ™‚ Thank You! I used the Birthday Unicorn coloring page for my card, and colored it up with my Copics, adding some sparkles with white Posca, and some glitter accents in the confetti with glitter pens.

With the image being on the busy side, I wanted to keep the design of the card simple. I matted the image with some black and glittery gold, then placed everything on a pretty rainbow stripe background paper.

Old Goat

Hi there!! I recently had a card to make for one of the boss’s birthdays. Every time we talk, we kid around with him calling me “young lady” and me calling him “old man” – although I’m slightly older than him. Since I made this card, the “old man” has morphed into “old goat”. I used an image from Stamp On It, from the QKR Stampede line, called Old Goat, and colored it with my Copics.

I printed the sentiment at the same time as the image. I doodled around the border, to add just a little “something”, then matted it with red. I placed it on a plaid background paper, then added a few enamel dots as the finishing touch.

Rainbow Wings

Hi there πŸ™‚ I hope everything is going well for everyone out there!! I’m sooooo happy….I got my second dose of my vaccine today….finally. It’s been a long year and a half, and it’s great to be able to breathe a little easier now πŸ™‚ I’m sharing an inspiration card for the current challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group. Our theme is Things That Fly, and I thought that this image, Harmony, was perfect for it. I colored it up with my Copics, using a picture of a bird as a color guide.

I found some polka dot background paper that coordinated with the image, but wasn’t too overly fussy to detract from the image. I die cut some black foliage to tuck around the picture, which I’d framed in black, and then added a pretty die cut sentiment, also cut from black card stock.

Butterfly Bounty

Hi there! I’m here to share my first DT creation for this month’s challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group. Our theme this month is Things that Fly. There are so many images in Ching-Chou’s shop that feature a winged friend! I used Misty Eyes for my creation, and colored her up in Copics, matching the color scheme of the background paper I’d chosen to use.

I cut her out and framed her with a pretty oval die, then positioned a gorgeous butterfly die cut at the bottom of the image. I used the same shades of markers to color in the butterflies on the die cut. Another butterfly die cut perches on the top of the image πŸ™‚ A few silver pearls were added to accent the blooms in the die cut.

Never Grow Up

Hey there πŸ™‚ It’s time for a new ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers! Angelique is sponsoring, with this lovely stamp set going to one lucky winner!

Since the DT can dive into their stash, and use anything their little hearts desire, I decided to work with an amazing image from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I printed Peter Pan off, using one of the included sentiments, then colored him up with my Copics. I even got to use some of the rarely used fluorescent shades to highlight the sentiment πŸ™‚

I’m not too sure what this card style is called, or even if it has a name, lol. It worked with the idea I had in my head, though! I cut the front of the card blank down, so the matted sentiment inside provided a frame of sorts for the main panel. A bunch of foliage die cuts added to the whimsical feel of this project.

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Mo’s Digital Pencil Challenge – #304 June Anything Mo’s Goes

Somebody Say Cake?

Hi there πŸ™‚ I was thrilled to be asked to be a GDT at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges!! They always have the most fun challenge themes, great sponsors, and fabulous DT inspiration πŸ™‚ This time around, their theme is Anything Goes with an Animal, and their generous sponsor is the one and only Ike’s Art!

I used the adorable Peeping Tom image, from Ike’s, to make my inspiration card. When I saw this guy, I knew I had to make a slim line card! I printed him off to size, then colored him up with my Copics. For the background, I wrote in all kinds of words that relate to birthdays. I matted the image with a piece of plaid paper that I’d cut with a scalloped slimline die, then again with some orange card stock. The cat’s expression reminded me of when they hear something that interests them, and they suddenly get VERY attentive!! I printed a sentiment to tie in with this on the card blank, before adhering the image panel. I’d like to say another big thank you to the team at Scrapping 4 Fun for asking me to join them this time <3

I’m entering the following challenges with this card:

Your Day

Hi there πŸ™‚ I’m here to share my inspiration card for the new challenge at Creative Fingers. Angelique is sponsoring again, with this fabulous stamp set for the lucky random winner:

I’ve been trying to increase my stash of masculine cards, so I used a cute stamp from Polkadoodles for my card. I cropped Malkolm, from the Little Monsters collection, so only part of his face was featured on the card. The sentiment was placed and printed at the same time as the image. I colored him up with Copics, coordinating the colors with the piece of printed paper I’d chosen to use.

I added some black mats to both the image panel and the striped frame to make everything really stand out. A couple scattered enamel dots finish of my fun card πŸ™‚

Retirement Huts

Hi there πŸ™‚ I’m sharing a CAS retirement card today. I used the image Beach Hut Holiday, from Sheepski Designs. I thought this scene was perfect for someone retiring…as I can imagine (dream of) just sitting in that chair, with not a care in the world!! But a situation like that is a ways a way for me, so I can continue dreaming….and crafting!!! I colored the image with my Copics, added some inked clouds with Distress Ink, then stamped and embossed a sentiment on it. The specific retirement message is on the inside. I found some paper that had colors that coordinated with many of those in the image, and used it as one of the mats.

Sunshine Friends

Hi there πŸ™‚ As I post this sunshine-y card, I’m listening to the rain fall – finally!! It has been such a dry spring, with fire bans, and very worried farmers!! This rain is so welcomed, and I can hardly wait to see how fresh and vibrant everything looks when the sun comes out again! This card my last inspiration card for the month of May for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our them this month is Magical World, but the DT was given an extra challenge this week – to use orange or yellow or both. I combined the 2 themes with this pretty mermaid. I colored Flow Followers up with my Copics, then cut it out with a stitched die.

I dug around in my paper stash, trying to find as many coordinating oranges and yellows as I could. After cutting a hexagon shape out from a warm yellow piece, I glued down the image. This was placed on an orange background. I went through my scrap bin, and die cut a bunch of seaweed and coral pieces, then adhered them to the card to form a border on the edge. A few fish were also cut, so they could swim around the image. To finish, I arranged a bunch of pearls across the bottom πŸ™‚

Starry Skies

Hello there πŸ™‚ Today, I have my second inspiration project for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is mythical creatures – such as fairies, unicorns, mermaids etc. The DT was also given an extra challenge, and that was to make a shaped card. I used Crimson Moon to make my shaped easel card, and colored it up with my Copics, before fussy cutting it out.

I embossed a piece of Black Magic card stock, then sanded it to add emphasis to the pattern. I then matted it with plain black, before attaching the image, and adhering it to the yellow base. For the bottom, I just used a piece of plain black, then popped on banner strip with a stamped sentiment. For embellishments, I used a ribbon flower, die cut greenery, and a sprinkling of tiny rhinestones amongst the stars, and on the base.
