Merry Christ-moose

Hi there! I hope you all had a good Christmas, different as it was for so many of us! I’m going to try to blog as many Christmas cards that I can in the next couple days, seeing as I finally have time, and most of them have made it to their recipients. When I saw this handsome guy in the latest release at Power Poppy, I knew I had to have him!! I colored up Maximo Moose, from the Forest Fellas collection, with my Copics, then cut him out to hang off the square focal piece.

I wanted to do a rustic, masculine card, as this was for my son. What better prints to use than woodgrain and buffalo plaid?!?! I layered the pieces, wrapping the printed papers with a piece of twine, before attaching the image. I spattered some white paint, to give a feeling of snow, then cut the sentiment (from the same set as the image) with a fishtail banner die. To finish this card, I attached some wooden snowflakes…perfect compliments to the rustic look!!

Dec. 25th

Hello, and Merry Christmas!! I hope everyone enjoys the day safely, and finds all the joy that this day is about <3 We have a special post over at Creative Fingers today. A Merry Christmas to all our sponsors throughout the year, and a blog candy giveaway!!

Angelique and Tindaloo have generously put the above candy up for grabs!

I made this card using a cute stamp and die set that I received from the one and only Angelique, earlier in the year. I colored the snowman with my Copics, then set him aside as I assembled the rest of the card. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with red sparkle powder, then layered the beautiful snowflake die cut over red mirror card. Then I got the bling out! I used minuscule rhinestones in the holes encircling the sentiment. I got this pick up pencil that makes handling such tiny embellishments easy, and it’s a game changer! Larger stones were placed in the centers of the snowflakes. Finally, I popped the snowman on the card, using some foam dots.

Not a Creature Was Stirring

Hey there 🙂 Well, we’re into the home stretch, and I hope everyone is ready, and able to enjoy the holidays <3 I had fun doing this card up with a non-Christmas image from The Paper Shelter. When I first saw Nap In a Cup, I immediately thought of a tuckered out elf on Christmas Eve! I colored him up with my Copics, and added a Christmas motif on the cup with colored pencils.

When I printed the image, I added a sentiment, that I created, to print at the same time. I die/fussy cut this out and layered it on a patterned paper that I’d wrapped a pretty ribbon around. A sprinkling of chunky embossing powder added just a bit more shine to the card.

Christmas Cuddle

Uh oh!! I’m late in sharing my second inspiration card for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge!! Was running around yesterday and then there were some lengthy holiday phone calls, and it totally slipped my mind!! Anyway, it’s shortly after 5am, so I’ll pretend it’s still yesterday, lol. Our challenge theme this month is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday/Just Because, so it pretty much covers almost anything. I used the sweet image, Christmas Cuddle for my card, and colored it with Copics.

I went through my scraps, and was happy to find a number of them to create the card layers with. After getting everything assembled, with a pretty gold twinge wrapped around the card for some sparkle, I die cut and assembled the poinsettia. No sentiment on the outside of this card, all the festive greetings were written inside 🙂

Toy Shop

Good morning! Well, less than a week until Christmas, and it will be a very different one for so many. This card features a sweet image from Aurora Wings. I colored Santa’s Little Helper up with my Copics, then cut it out with a stitched die and inked the edges.

Then, I got stumped!! Lol! After trying out about a million different papers and layouts, I finally settled on this. I tucked a couple die cut trees to peek out from behind the image, then cut the border piece. Before attaching the border, I stamped and embossed the sentiment. I still wasn’t happy with how things looked, so inlaid some of the gift pieces, and added some gold and silver accents to the other parts of the gifts, and the dotted part of the border.

Be sure to check out Mitzi’s new images and coloring books at the Etsy Shop and at Aurorawings.com!!

Scottie Love

Hi there 🙂 This is a special card, made especially for one of my sisters. She’s always had a love of Scottie dogs, so I’m constantly on the lookout for Scottie images for her cards. This one is from Fred She Said, and is colored with Copics. I fussy cut him out, so he could perch in the die cut sentiment circle, then placed this on and embossed and sanded piece.

What other print would I use as a base for a Scottie than plaid??? This pretty blue was pard of a plaid paper pad that I found at Michael’s. I finished the card off with some twine and a snowflake charm, and some silver embellishments to match up with the sentiment and matting.

As You Like It – Favorite Person to Create For? I can’t say if it’s definitely family or friend, as there’s those people in each group that are among my favorites. Why? Because I love to create for those that I can super personalize a card for….and this sister is one of those people!

Sweet Christmas

Hey there! I hope everyone is well on their way to being ready for the holidays, and are still finding time to relax and enjoy the meaning of the season <3 This is the card that I made for my bestie this year, featuring an oh so sweet image from Di’s Digi Stamps. I colored up Christmas Cupcake Mice with my Copics, then partially fussy cut it out.

For the base, I cut out a window with a square die, then attached an embossed piece of acetate to it. I dotted the rest with a white Posca pen, as it looked too “blah” without. I printed part of the sentiment on my computer, then cut it with a banner die. I layered another die cut over this to complete the sentiment. Finally, I attached the image, to complete the card.

Cardinals

Hello there 🙂 Christmas is fast approaching, and I know that in many parts of the world, the celebrations will be so different this year!!!! I hope that you all find as much joy in the season as you can. Our challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group this month is with the theme of Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday/Just For You/Just Because. Keeping it fairly open, as people are so busy at this time of year! I used the beautiful grayscale image, Cardinal, for this Christmas card. I colored it with my Copics, then matted it with mirror card.

With such a beautiful image, I wanted to keep the design fairly simple. After layering the image on some gray card stock, I added a strip of this gorgeous trim (dollar store SCORE!). A die cut sentiment and a small scattering of adhesive rhinestones finish the card off.

Special Thanks

Hi there! This post is a bit late, because my blog server went all glitchy and I had to get my personal IT guy (my son) to sort it out! Every year, the Creative Fingers challenge blog does a special post to thank our sponsors throughout the year. It’s that time now, and I wanted to do a special thank you to our very own Angelique….who has so generously sponsored many of our challenges this year. I’m also proud to call her a dear friend <3 Earlier this year, I was shocked to receive a parcel of all kinds of amazing crafty goodies from her, so, for this card, I used one of the stamps from that package 🙂 I colored it with Copics, then added a stamped thank you sentiment.

I cut the image out with a gorgeous frame die, and layered it on a pale mauve for contrast.

I hope you can join us for this special challenge, and join us in thanking all of our wonderful sponsors…theres also some fabulous blog candy up for grabs, courtesy of Angelique and Hilde!

Candy Cane Fairy

Hi there! I’m soooo late sharing my inspiration card for the Aurora Wings Facebook challenge. As in…the November challenge has ended….I’m so out of it!! However, on the bright side, it’s the perfect situation for any of you that keep track of time like I do, that we welcome old and new projects, so if you missed out on one, you can enter in the next one! I used the oh, so festive Candy Cane Fairy (here on Etsy) for my card. I colored her up in traditional Christmas colors, using my Copics, a white Posca pen, and some silver glitter on her wings.

After cutting a frame with a die from The Ton, I layered her on a striped background paper. I added a die cut sentiment and candy canes (can’t remember where these dies came from for the life of me!) To tie in with the silver on her wings, I added a silver bow, baubles and a strip of mirror card on the sentiment.
