Thanks Gift Card Holder

Hi there 🙂 Over at Creative Fingers, we have had numerous fabulous and generous sponsors throughout the year, and we have a special post, with blog candy, as a Thank You to these sponsors.

Morgan’s Artworld has been a repeat sponsor, and I’ve used one of her images, Old Roses, for my thank you 🙂 I colored it up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out. I sprinkled some Gold embossing powder in the center part of the image to give some texture and shine. I made up a gift card holder, that has a tag that you can slip the card into, which fits inside the main pocket.

I attached the image to the front, after stamping a sentiment and scattering some gold embossing powder on the back. A gold die cut ‘thanks’, attached at an angle, gives the sentiment a pop, without detracting from the lovely image. The gold is carried through with the ribbon on the tag insert. I hope you can visit us, and leave your info, for a chance to win the blog candy!!

Peaceful Poinsettias

Wow, second last Sunday before Christmas already!! And I was stupid enough to finish up my shopping yesterday!!! Today, it’s time for some inspiration for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday with a CCK image. I used one of Ching-Chou’s newer images…Poinsettia in December, for my card. I colored her with my Copics, then fussy cut her out.

I placed her on some die cuts that I layered up, then onto the background paper. It isn’t Christmas paper, but the print reminded me of snow! I made the poinsettia embellishments by layering die cuts and adding silver micro beads for the centers. These were arranged with foliage, cut from white and silver shimmer papers. The sentiment was stamped and embossed on a fishtail banner. Since I mail quite a few cards, I like to keep them as flat as possible, and this one fits the bill!!!

Little Spy

Hi there! Today, I have an inspiration card that features the adorable image that is being offered as a freebie by Sheepski Designs in the Kit and Clowder Advent event on Facebook. There are tons of freebies and discounts being offered this month, so be sure to check it out!! I printed the Christmas sentiment at the same time as the image, then colored it all up with my Copics.

I fussy cut the bottom part of the image, and then arranged it above a cluster of die cut pine branches. I also tucked a few branches around the image, to make it look as if this cute group was peeking out from the trees. I added snow to the branches for a festive, wintery feel. All that was needed to finish this rather CAS card was a mat in the same green as the foliage.

Pink Christmas

Hi there:) I have an inspiration card for the current Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. This month, our theme is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday. I’m using the beautiful Snowflake Imprint image on this. I have a friend whose sister loves pink, and I was asked to make her a card. I colored the image with my Copics and added a bit of sparkle to the snowflakes. Then I cut it into a circle that I’d edged in pink.

For the base of the background, I used mirror card printed with snowflakes….I love mirror card, but it is a devil to photograph!!!

I die cut the snowflake corner twice from pink shimmer paper, and twice from white card stock, so that I could do some inlaying. By using white inlays, it gave a bit more definition against the background. I cut a sentiment from the same pink shimmer paper. Some pink pearls provided a pretty finishing touch.

Oooooo Santa!!

I was honored, and thrilled to be asked to GDT at Scrapping 4Fun Challenges. This time, the theme is Christmas 🙂

We’d love to see some of your fabulous festive makes! I used a KennyK image from my stash…..love these images, and it makes me sad that the store is closed….but at least I stocked up before hand! 🙂 I colored Stud Santa up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out. I haven’t made a bendy card for quite a while, so decided that this would be a great image to use on one. I found numerous templates and directions for bendy cards on Pinterest, you just have to do a quick search 🙂 I used some wood grain DP, and some buffalo plaid DP for the background. I’d decided which friend this was for and the buffalo plaid was an absolute MUST for her!!! I die cut some Christmas lights, and added both glitter and Glossy Accents to the bulbs to give them a bit of “extra”. I arranged them around the image, and the die cut sentiment. For a quick finishing touch, I doodled around the edges with a white Posca pen 🙂 I’d like to thank the team at Scrapping 4Fun for having me as a guest at their fabulous challenge 🙂

Holly Fairy

Hi there 🙂 Here is my last inspiration of November for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group challenge. Our theme is Remembrance/Thanksgiving/Thinking of You….and this week the DT had an extra challenge of “Christmas”. I like to combine the main theme with the DT themes, to avoid confusion of prospective entrants, and I think I managed to do that here 🙂 I used the lovely Holly Fairy image, from THIS set, found at the Etsy store. I colored her up with my Copics, then set to figuring out what to do with the rest of the card!!

My scrap bin is getting a bit out of hand, so I felt as if I should really start using more of those scraps (any piece less than 4 x 6″ ends up in this bin). I dug around until I found some pieced that coordinated with each other and the image, and played around until I came up with the final layout.

I feel the stitching adds a bit of definition between the main background piece and the card blank….the zig zag borders reflected this stitching. On the striped piece, I added some doodled stitches to coordinate with the die cut frame. The holly die cuts are from Tim Holtz and are finished with sequin “berries”. The sentiment is one I made on the computer 🙂

Christmas Bells

Hi all 🙂 I’m here with my inspiration project for Sheepski Designs Facebook group challenge. All of our challenges are ATG with a Sheepski image, but there’s always an optional theme, if you need help deciding. This month, it’s Sparkle and Shine. When Andrea posted the theme for the DT, I read Shimmer and Shine, for some reason, and went with that, lol. I used one of the newer images in the Etsy store, Christmas Bells, and colored it up with my Copics, adding some highlights with a white Posca pen.

I’ve had this bell printed paper for a long time, and this was the perfect image to use it with!!! It’s double sided, so I also used the red dotted side, and added some shimmery gold strips as well. I wrapped some shimmery (I went with my mistaken theme!!!! LOL) gold ribbon around a piece of green and tied a pretty bow. For the shine, I added some gold ball embellishments, and die cut a sentiment from gold mirror card 🙂

Another card in my Christmas stack, which was getting pretty big….until I had to relinquish 90% of it for the order I got!!!

Enough Reindeer?

Hi 🙂 I’m running a bit late with this post….have been working NON STOP to get a massive card order done….and yay!!! All done and delivered 🙂 Now I get to start all over so I have some Christmas cards for MYSELF, lol. This card is my inspiration as DT for Creative Fingers Challenge. Our theme is always ATG, and we just love to see your amazing makes 🙂 This time, our sponsor is the one and only Bugaboo Stamps. We were lucky enough to get some images to work with, and I’m using Enough Reindeer. Poop sad little puppy….even with tears!! I colored him with Copics, and added a few touches of white pen accents, and a teeny bit of Glossy Accents, to make the tears look wet! No matter how I tried to photograph him….the tears didn’t really show to great effect.

I cut him out with a stitched rectangular die, and used a stitched tag die to cut out the sentiment that comes with the image. I inked and embossed the edges of these pieces with a sparkly red embossing powder. The plaid background paper shows off the image nicely, and I cut a fishtail banner from another piece of paper from the same stack (also edged and embossed). The red glitter ribbon and bow adds a nice sparkle for Christmas. I finished off by attaching a little North Pole brad in the bow centre, and matting everything with red glitter paper.

Purple-icous

Hi there 🙂 Another Sunday has rolled around, and it’s time for another inspiration project for Ching-Chou Kuik’s Facebook challenge! This month, our theme is Remembrance/Thanksgiving/Thinking of You, but this week, the DT was thrown an extra challenge, and that is Purple-icious. I used Green Moth Maiden, and turned her purple!!! I used a number of different purple Copic combos on this, from bluish purple, to greyish, and pretty much everything in between, lol.

I had the background paper, with it’s moth/butterfly print picked out as soon as I decided to use this image….how perfect can it be?? I die cut a bunch of little butterfly/moths out of black and a shimmery purple, then used the same papers to cut the burst that I positioned in the opposite corner. I added some sparkly flight trails and accents on the burst, which co-ordinated nicely with the sparkly Thinking of You sentiment, as well as adding some dimension to the card 🙂

Special Birthday

When it’s your bestie’s birthday, you need a special card…..and when she is an amazing card maker….well….pressure’s on! LOL My bff’s fave color is purple, and she definitely has a bit of a dark side to her as well. I went on a search for a great image for her card….not that I don’t have THOUSANDS already…..and found this one, which is perfect at Jade Dragonne on Deviant Art. I colored her up with my Copics, and added some sparkle to the lace then fussy cut her out.

I had seen this style of card on Pinterest, and managed to find a post with a tutorial, so decided to give it a go. Did I actually pin the tutorial? NO…..oops….but it’s there….really!! I could’t figure out how to do this myself, lol. If I find links in my web wanderings, I will update this post with the link 🙂 ***found!!! http://jenniferds.blogspot.com/2019/05/la-la-land-crafts-3d-corner-pop-up-card.html?m=1 ***

I’m not great at math, and have little patience for precise measurement….but I hunkered down and got all the pieces cut for this card. I had some beautiful printed paper that were perfect, both in style and in color, that I distressed the edges of all the pieces, then used sparkle embossing powder to add a pretty touch to the edges. After I had the main part of the card all assembled, I made an easel for the image to pop up on. A die cut banner with a stamped and embossed sentiment provided the stopper for the easel. I dug around and found some flowers in my stash to embellish the card with….coincidentally, they are lovely Petal Lu flowers that I received from my bestie for MY birthday last year!! I added a couple little red daisies and some die cut leaves….but….it still needed…..SKULLS!! Of course I didn’t have any tiny skulls in my craft hoard, but I have Fimo….so I made some to tuck in to the flower clusters 🙂
