70th Birthday Bow

Hi there đŸ™‚ My sister turned 70 yesterday, and I had to make an extra special card for her. It’s been a long time since I’ve made a bow card, and this seemed like the perfect occasion to make one of these again. Since her (and mine) favorite flower are pansies, I went through my stash of images, and found this lovely one from Angie Blom. I colored it up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out. I found some scraps of purple and yellow paper to cut out the number 70, and layered the 2 pieces before attaching the number and the image to a pretty oval die cut. I cut out all the pieces, as well as the card base, from a pretty mauve card stock (her fave color is purple). I edged the bow pieces with some narrow lace that I had, but it needed a bit more color to tie everything together. I searched through my bins and bins of ribbon, and could not find a shade that complimented the rest of the card!! You never realize how many shades of purple there are (and how gross some of them look together), until you are looking for something specific!! White ribbon and Copics to the rescue!! After I colored all the ribbon and attached it to the edges, I assembled the card. Usually, the cards I have to mail are very flat, but for this special occasion, I broke that rule. I’m happy to say my sis loved her card đŸ™‚
