Hi there 🙂 I’m a bit late with this post because of some health issues I’ve been having, but better late than never, right? It’s my last inspiration for this month for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge. Our theme for the month is Make Your Own Background, and this week, the DT was also challenged to use dots and/or stripes. I managed to do both 🙂 I used one of the gorgeous images from THIS set, found at Ching-Chou’s Etsy store. I colored her up with my Copics, going with bold and bright colors against basic black.
For the card base, I went with a shaped, Twisted Easel fold. I inked up a polka dot embossing folder with black oxide ink, and embossed a piece of white paper with each side, before cutting the shapes out with a Sizzix die. With the “make your own background ” and dots parts done, all I needed was to implement stripes 🙂 I cut a couple pieces of striped ribbon and used them, along with a bow from the same ribbon, to begin embellishing my card. A number of die cut flowers and butterflies matched up with the image, and provided a bright pop of color to the background. The sentiment on the fishtail banner serves as a stopper for the easel 🙂
