Good morning 🙂 Well, the snow finally came….but just a bit of it and it was mixed with rain, so it should be a really fun drive to work this morning!! I swear, everyone forgets how to drive when the first snow falls 🙁 Well, it’s starting to look a bit like Christmas, so this card, made for the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. sort of fits the weather!! Our theme this time is “Add Ribbon and Distress Your Card”, with the fabulous and very generous Rick St. Dennis as sponsor 🙂
I was given Noelle Holiday Hat to use on my card. I colored her up with my SN markers, then inked the background with Distress Inks. I may have had a bit too much fun with the distressing part of this challenge, as all edges were torn, sanded….generally beat up, lol. I layered up the card, following this sketch from The Sketchy Challenges:
using scraps of Christmas print paper, kraft card stock, and a piece of Kraft Core paper that I found in my stash. For the ribbon, I cut 3 little banners from some gold ribbon that I found. I stamped the sentiment twice, to give it a shadowed effect…. once with a dark green ink, and once in gold, which I heat embossed.
I’d like to enter this into the following:

This is just stunning. This is one of my favourite images and you have brought it to life so beautifully. xx
Your coloring is amazing, Susan! That is such a striking vintage image and I love the way you have designed your card – so warm and cozy like the fur hat and coat!! Be careful on the roads! I know what you mean: in California, drivers go bat crazy when we get our first rain of the year!! Hugs, Darnell
Fabulous card Susan! As Darnell said (she steals my words!) – striking and cosy. You have snow already?? Gosh – time to think ahead and plan how to move the little sprinkling we normally get. We’ve been marooned once or twice here I admit – but the UK is hopeless at contingency planning anyhow – sigh. Half an inch od snow and the whole area stops still!
