Altered Notebook

Hi there It’s nearing the end of this month’s Aurora Wings ATG Facebook Challenge. We would love to see anything you’ve done with one of Mitzi’s images….old, new, complete project or even just a coloring There’s something for everyone in either of her stores ( here and Etsy), plus she has a sale going on on some fabulous images I chose to work with Winter Lullaby, found HERE in the digi store, and HERE on Etsy. I printed the image on kraft paper, and colored it with my Prismacolor pencils. After adding some accent touches with a white Posca pen and some sponged gold and silver ink, I set it aside to work on the rest of the project.

I have so many things on my “alterable” shelves, that I figured it was high time to do something with one of them. I chose a notebook that I picked up at the dollar store, it’s made well, but had an uuuuugggggllly cover!! First, I trimmed a piece of dark plum CS to fit the cover, inked the edges, and sprinkled some chunky silver embossing powder on it and heated it up. Then, I took another piece of kraft which I stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder before die cutting the corners with a Tim Holtz die. I finished this piece off by inking the edges with Distress ink. I cut 2 corner pieces with a die from Cheery Lynn. I then layered everything up, placing a distressed piece of the dark plum CS at an angle under the image. A few small silver blingies finished this project off.
