Fall Floral Fantasy

Hi there 🙂 It’s been ages since I’ve had a play with an Aurora Wings image!! Flora 2 is one that I’ve never done up before, and I thought she’d look so pretty in rich autumnal colors!! I got to work on her with my Copics, then finished off with a few accents of gold sparkle. With an image as detailed as this, you really don’t need anything for embellishments, so I kept the card design quite simple. I layered it with green and sparkly gold papers to really let the image shine. A quick stamped sentiment finishes off the card. Well, this is a short and sweet blog post – but the beautiful image speaks for itself 🙂

Basketball Birthday

Hi there 🙂 It’s time for a brand new ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers! Our fabulous sponsor this time is Conie Fong. Along with providing everyone with a code for a 25% discount code to her store (CREATIVEFINGERSOCT), Conie has given the DT images to work with, and my choice is the adorable Basketball Benny! I colored Benny up with my Copics, then cut the image out with a stitched die.

I have a sports themed paper pad that provided the perfect choice for papers for this image. I used 3 of the different designs – the basketball print for the background, an orange print for the diagonal strip, and a grassy green for the big stitched banner. I layered it all up, backing the orange strip with a black mat that I’d edged with some edging scissors (!!!). The paper collection also came with a bunch of die cut images, and I chose an assortment to pop onto the card, using foam dots for some dimension with a few of them. I used another stitched banner die to cut out the simple stamped sentiment. Everything was matted in black before being attached to the card base. I hope you can join us in our challenge, and please be sure to visit Conie Fong at her Facebook group to see more fantastic makes to give you inspiration to enter the challenge there!!

Starry Celebration

Hi there 🙂 I’m here to share my DT inspiration card for Creative Fingers Challenge. As always, our theme is ATG, as we love to see whatever your creativity comes up with!! I used the Ribbons and Stars Border digital image from the Eureka line at Stamp On It. I printed it up with the sentiment. After coloring it up with my Copics, I added some gold sparkle Nuvo to some of the stars, and gold metallic gel pen to others. The starry embossing folder was the perfect thing to give the bright yellow background some “oomph”. Black matting accented everything nicely. I love making cards that are suitable for males or females, young or old, and this one fits the bill to perfection!

Baby Animals

Good morning 🙂 I have a sweet card for a special new arrival this morning. I thought that this image from All Dressed Up, and the designer paper that I found in my stash, were meant to be together!! I colored up Jungle Friends with my Copics, trying to match the colors in the paper as closely as possible.

I arranged the layers, using both sides of the paper, some solid color card stock, and a piece of ribbon. I popped on the image with some foam dots to give a bit of dimension, then placed some pearls on the punched scalloped border of one piece. My bow tying abilities were put to use with another piece of ribbon, and after finishing, I placed a couple of die cut pins in the centre. A stamped sentiment finished this card off.

Sending Love

Hi there 🙂 I am honored to be chosen as the first GDT over at Your Scrapbook Place! If you’ve never checked out this challenge, you really gotta!!! It’s always ATG and has wonderful sponsors and inspiration every month <3 September’s sponsor is My Besties, and the DT (and me!) were given some sweet images to work with. I used Little Violet Image 270, and colored her up with my Copics, choosing colors that coordinated with the papers I used.

I chose 3 papers from the paper collection that I thought of as soon as I saw this image, and layered 2 of them up with mats, and die cut the other one into a scalloped circle for the sentiment. A quick die cut sentiment, and some square stones to add a touch of bling, finished this card off. Big thanks to the team at Your Scrapbook Place for inviting me to guest design with them this month!

OMG

Hi there 🙂 Well, it’s been awhile, but summer has thrown even more at me, and I’ve been dealing with that, and not in the mood for blogging. Another restart!!! I have a co-worker that’s getting up there in years (aren’t we all!), but he has a fantastic sense of humor. I had him in mind when I made this card, featuring a bunch of candles from the Lili of the Valley Candles Stamp Set. I merged 3 of the big groupings together so they fit a slim line card shape, and also printed off some of the “extras”. I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils, then fussy cut the extra candle shapes, and popped them up here and there with some adhesive foam.

I added some gold sparkles to the flames of the popped up candles. I had printed a part of the sentiment when I did the candles, and after everything was colored and assembled, I added a die cut sentiment, that I also popped up with foam. Hopefully this card will bring a smile to an extra special co-worker 🙂

Merry Mice

Hi there 🙂 I kept going with the whole Christmas in July thing, and made this card up. This is an adorable image from Di’s Digital Stamps (although ALL her images are adorable!). I colored these sweeties up with my Copics, adding a few accents with white Posca.

I messed around with a few different layouts, before deciding on trying something new. I don’t know what this kind of card is called, but it’s a fun card type for larger images.

After getting the card base assembled, I layered on some red and white paper that I’ve had lying around for years. I centered the image on the inside of the card, so it shows through, then added an inlaid die cut sentiment and some sprigs of holly to the front piece. A few white enamel dots and some red gemstone “berries” finish this card off.

Brunches of Wishes

Hi there 🙂 This was an extremely fun – and challenging – card to make. My kid’s boyfriend was approaching, and when I asked for card ideas, I was told: “His favorite color is green, he likes to cook and eat, but his favorite is breakfast – he even has a tattoo of bacon and eggs. Oh, and he likes rainbows….not the arch kind…the prism kind.” This little speech was accompanied by an evil gleam in the eye, lol. Challenge accepted!!!!! First thing was to find some cute breakfast-y images, and I really scored at Terevela Design on Etsy!! I chose to use the Kawaii Breakfast set, because they were just too darn cute with their little faces! I picked out a few of the characters, then colored them up with my Copics and fussy cut them out. I’d been thinking about making him a shaker card before hearing the “requirement” list, but I was not deterred!! I brought out some of my Fimo, and made up some little breakfast shaker elements 🙂 I made the sun into the shaker element, and positioned everything on the green (of course) card base. The sentiment was printed on my computer, and leads into the inside of the card….

I love how this all came together, and was pleased to hear that he absolutely loved the card 🙂

Celebrate!

Hi there 🙂 I needed a festive birthday card, and reached for this amazing image from Power Poppy. I used the no line version in the Cuppa Cupcake set, and colored it with my Copics. I had the background papers picked out and a general idea of what I wanted to do, do I was able to color in the background of the image to match the papers, and give the glass an even more transparent look.

I cut a number of streamers out of coordinating colors of scrap paper, and a shiny “celebrate” with a Paper Rose die. A few silver sequins finish off this fun and festive card.

Birthday At the Beach

Hi there 🙂 With the beautiful summer weather that we’ve been having, I just had to do a summery card!! This image from Bugaboo stamps fit the bill perfectly 🙂 I had fun coloring JJ up, using a whole rainbow of Copic colors – a great way to “test” seldom used markers to make sure they aren’t drying up!

I had the perfect background paper to go with the rainbow colors in the image. I die cut the sentiment in the image piece, so the striped paper would show through the negative part. I added a couple summer drink brads, and a squiggly strip of white to finish this card off 🙂
