Sunflower Baby

Hi there 🙂 It’s been so long since I’ve done a card with an image by Mo Manning, from Mo’s Digital Pencil, that I felt it was more than high time to have a play! This adorable Sunflower Baby is a nod to the horrible circumstances the people of the Ukraine are in, and an expression of my very, very best wishes to them all for peace in the near future <3 I colored her up with my Copics, then cut the image out with an irregular edge die.

I decided to do a Double Dutch fold card, and after making the base, I found some printed papers that coordinated beautifully with the colors in the image. After layering everything on to the card base, I grabbed one of my favorite flower building dies, and began cutting out sunflowers. I love this die because it’s great for both sunflowers and all the daisy varieties 🙂 I positioned the flowers on the card, then stamped a sentiment, which I cut out with the smallest die from the nesting set that I’d used for the image. A few enamel dots in coordinating colors finish this card off.

Relaxing Retirement

Hi there 🙂 I was going through my images, and found this one, by Little Claire, that I’d won in a challenge years and years ago, and never used! Sadly, it seems as if their shop closed down 🙁 I colored it up with my Copics, and cut it out with a scalloped slimline die. This image is so peaceful and relaxing, my mind naturally went to a retirement theme card! I stamped and embossed the sentiment, then wrapped some blue and white bakers twine around the base. I backed everything with a pretty royal blue CS that I’d cut with a stitched die. It needed a bit more, so I decided to add some blue and white sequins…..still trying to decide it I’m happy with that choice, but oh well, too late!!!

Playful Mermaid

Hi there 🙂 I’ve had this little mermaid from LeAnns World 101 colored up for quite some time, and decided it was time to put Thessa on a card! I fussy cut her out, then set her aside, while I assembled the rest of the card. I embossed a piece of green cored paper with a seashell folder, then lightly sanded it. I also added a bit of green sparkle to a few parts of it. I layered this piece under some white card stock that I’d die cut with scalloped circle window. A purple sentiment, cut with a Penny Black die, and some clear acrylic “bubbles” finish this sweet card off.

Baby Animal Friends

Hi there 🙂 I thought I had a number of baby boy cards in my stash, but nope….all I had was girls! I love this group of baby animals from Di’s Digital Stamps – I can’t find the exact image in her store, possibly because it was a freebie from somewhere – but there are so many adorable images to choose from! I colored it up with my Copics, then cut it out with a rounded and stitched rectangle die. I found a couple prints that looked good together, then layered them with a piece of white that I’d punched a scalloped edge on. A cool “congrats” sentiment was cut from a scrap of green, and backed with some white. I die cut a number of banner type decorations, then punched some stars to tie everything together.

Sympathy Silhouette

Hi there 🙂 I seem to be getting bogged down in strips of paper that are leftovers from cutting 12×12″ sheets down for envelopes. I’ve been saving them, and seeing as how I make a LOT of envelopes, well…..time to do something with them! I grabbed an assortment of green strips, and cut them with a scallped edge die. After repositioning them about a hundred times, the idea for this card came to me. I layered the die cut strips on the top of a piece of CS that I’d stamped and embossed. The silhouette flowers, and butterfly seemed so peaceful, that I decided to add to my sympathy card stash. A stamped and embossed sentiment, a few black gems, and black matting finish this card off.

Flower Smiles

Hello there 🙂 Today, I’m thrilled to share with you a card I made as GDT for Kleuren Met Potloden (Coloring with Pencils) One of their sponsors for the ATG challenge this month is Mirtillemente, and I have been given an image from them to use for my card.

I colored up Berry Flower Pot with my Prismacolors. The colors I used were influenced by the fun colors in the papers.

After layering the papers and image together, matting with black CS to give some pop, I started on the flowers. I had some small scraps that were ideal for die cutting these flowers. After shaping them a bit, and adding some centres with a black fineliner, I finished off with a clear dot centre. They were arranged on the card with a bit of greenery. A layered sentiment finishes this bright and happy card off 🙂

By the Sea

Hi there 🙂 This card features another attempt to use some of the stuff that I JUST HAD TO HAVE (and never used! lol) It was at least 11 years ago that I found these packages of vellum images, so I got 2 or 3 of each design…..and I think I may have used 1 image!!! Well, after coloring up this amazing Herringbone Tile 1 Background from Angie Blom with my Copics, I knew just what to use! The basket look of the background was the perfect thing to accent the vellum pelican, and it’s post stump. Because the coloring of the background showed through the vellum image, I glued it on to black card stock, and fussy cut around it, leaving a bit of an edge for definition. Some matte black enamel dots, and a stamped image, finished this masculine card off 🙂

Poppin’ Bday

Hi there 🙂 It’s been ages and ages since I’ve had a play with a Kenny K image, and this birthday card for my boss seemed like the perfect time to get one out! I actually like the guy (boss), so wanted to make something a bit fun for him. I colored the image up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out. I chose 3 prints from a cardstock pad for this card, so everything coordinated quite nicely. I’ve been meaning to do up one of these twist and pop cards, and found a very easy to follow tutorial at Beccy’s Place. I got everything layered up and assembled, using gold mirror card for the BDAY sentiment, and to inlay the letters on the black die cut banner sentiments. For just a bit more “pop” (pun most definitely intended!), I added some gold hole-less sequins to both the front and the inside of the card.

Birthday Goat

Hi there 🙂 It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged anything, but I’ve been keeping busy with my crafting! I was going through my files, and found this adorable Goat digital stamp from Polkadoodles! I colored the image up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out.

I found 2 coordinating paper prints, from different collections, and went to work! A pretty die cut provided the perfect back drop for the little goat. After arranging all the layers, I die cut the sentiment twice, and layered the 2 together. Some tiny flowers and die cut greenery added a pretty springtime touch. As a finishing touch, I cut a bow from the second paper print, and added it to one of the flower bunches.

Flowers for You

Hi there 🙂 I created this piece as my DT inspiration for Creative Fingers. Our challenge this time is sponsored by our own DT member Anne Constantly Carding – Crafts U Print. There are some beautiful kits in her shop, with so many possibilities!! I used the Blooming Mystery Watercolor, Cream Kit for my card. My printer was acting up, and not printing color well, and I was starting to panic!! I finally printed this layer from the kit in greyscale, and colored it with my Copics!! A little more versatility to this beautiful kit 🙂

I’ve been trying to use stuff from my stash that I’ve had tucked and filed away for so long. For this card, I used a piece of embossed CS that I did up years ago with an Embossabilities folder – then filed, lol. I layered a white piece with a stamped sentiment, and matted everything in cream and peach to finish things off.
