Soar Above

Hi there 🙂 Hope everything is well with you..I’ve been feeling ill, and have had no energy, so some of my posts are a bit behind 🙁  This card is for the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T.   We have a sketch challenge for you this time 🙂

Of course we have some wonderful sponsors, and this time around it’s

Sweet N’ Sassy $10 voucher

and

5 images of choice from QKR Stampede

I love this sketch, because you can use different elements for the shapes, as I have, with the image, so I used the plane and 2 clouds from the image Soar Above the Rest by Sweet N’ Sassy. I colored it in with my SN markers, then fussy cut the 3 shapes out.  I glued them onto a scrap of paper from a travel themed pad, and edged it with some stripes from the same pad.  The background (hard on the eyes!) is from the same pad as well.  I used one of the sentiments from the same set as the images are from, and the other sentiment (you soar above the rest)  is featured on the inside of the card.

Autumn Hello

Good morning 🙂  Another Autumn card for you today.  I found this cute image from Ike’s Art, in my files.  It doesn’t seem to be available anymore (or I’m blind), but there are TONS of cute images in the store to choose from!!   I used this sketch, from The Sketchy Challenges, as my layout guideline:

After coloring this cute fall pooch with my Prismacolor pencils, I stamped 3 leaves with an Ink A Dink a Doo stamp, and colored and fussy cut them out.  I found the perfect papers in my stash, and lay everything out.  I added a sentiment, stamped on a fishtail banner die cut (cut with an unbranded die).  Snow is in the forecast today, so I’m thinking that these will be the only pretty leaves that I see for quite awhile 🙁

Brain Baby

Every time I look at this tag, I’m more convinced that I’m just not right in the head 😛  But ’tis the season to be creepy…so, here it is.  I used the (any other time of the year) adorable Acorn Baby Sprite image from Aurora Wings.  I wanted to creep up a Sprite, as that is a huge challenge with them being so flippin’ cute!! I thought BRAINS when I saw this guys head (like I said, I’m not quite “right”), so set to work making all the brain type of grooves, using some of the acorn pattern as a guideline.  Continued to color in the face in as gruesome a way as I could, while still maintaining the idea of cuteness.  After I colored him, I fussy cut him out, and then wondered what the heck I was going to do with the little creeper, lol.  I haven’t done a tag for a long time so cut one out from some Black Magic paper, and embossed it with a brick pattern, using a Tim Holtz folder.  I used a portion of a trellis (Sizzix) die cut, and was reduced to hand cutting the blood drop border, because I had no die or punch in that shape.  With the little guys brain puffing out, he reminded me of a science experiment gone wrong, so I printed the sentiment on the computer, distressed it a bit and added 2 silver rivets.  Some fuzzy fiber and yarn provided the tie for this tag.

Pug Present

If this isn’t just the cutest little guy, ever!!! I wouldn’t mind getting him from Santa 🙂  This card was made for a swap over at the Kit and Clowder Facebook group, and when I searched to find something about my partner, the one thing that stuck out was that she LOVES her little pug 🙂  So I took it from there, and was lucky enough to find this adorable little guy, from Just Inklined.  I colored him up with my SN and Copic markers, then carefully added a holly pattern, with a small stamp, to the gift box.  I layered everything up with white CS and mirror card (which was, as always, a joy to photograph), that I’d die cut a window into.  The holly was cut with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and the sentiment was done with an unbranded die.  I added a red bow and some silver baubles to finish this card off.  I hope my swap partner likes it!!

Fall Shaker

Hi there!! Even though there’s snow on the ground now, I have a few more autumn themed cards to share 🙂  This one features a beautiful Faery Ink image, called Aja Autumn Leaves Fae.  I colored this beauty up with my Prismacolor pencils, then fussy cut her out.  I haven’t made a shaker card for quite some time, and I had these leaf confetti sequins that worked perfectly here!!  I die cut a frame with 2 nesting dies by Sizzix Framelits  to go around the shaker part, then attached Aja on top.  It needed just a bit more, so I added a corner that had been cut with my Cricut.  There’s nothing like the warm, vibrant colors of autumn (except maybe the cool, frosty colors of winter…lol).

Vintage Christmas

Good morning 🙂 Well, the snow finally came….but just a bit of it and it was mixed with rain, so it should be a really fun drive to work this morning!! I swear, everyone forgets how to drive when the first snow falls 🙁  Well, it’s starting to look a bit like Christmas, so this card, made for the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. sort of fits the weather!! Our theme this time is “Add Ribbon and Distress Your Card”, with the fabulous and very generous Rick St. Dennis as sponsor 🙂

Rick St. Dennis

I was given Noelle Holiday Hat to use on my card.  I colored her up with my SN markers, then inked the background with Distress Inks.  I may have had a bit too much fun with the distressing part of this challenge, as all edges were torn, sanded….generally beat up, lol.  I layered up the card, following this sketch from The Sketchy Challenges:

using scraps of Christmas print paper, kraft card stock, and a piece of Kraft Core paper that I found in my stash.  For the ribbon, I cut 3 little banners from some gold ribbon that I found.  I stamped the sentiment twice, to give it a shadowed effect…. once with a dark green ink, and once in gold, which I heat embossed.

Birthday Bow

Hi there!  What does a card maker do when an extra special person has a birthday?? Makes an extra special card, of course!! My good friend Nicola celebrated a big birthday yesterday, so I figured it was the best time to finally make a bow card, that we’ve both been admiring for some time now.  The number of pieces in the pattern was quite intimidating, but I dove in, and it wasn’t that bad, once you started putting things together.  Nic’s favorite color is purple, and she loves dragons, so I used a few coordinating patterns from a pad, and found this beautiful image, Amethyst Dragon by Molly Harrison.  It was a real challenge coloring the image with my Copic and SN markers, as it had to be printed SO tiny, to be incorporated with the card design…got ‘er done, with a lot of breath holding, and a few breaks due to shaky hands, lol.  I found one of the hardest things to do with this card was to embellish (rather, find the embellishments my mind thought up) it.  I used black feathers, my ONE black rose, and some little flowers that I colored to match the image.  I then added some beaded silver sprigs and some punched leaves.  I was really surprised at how well this card stood when finished.  Sandra, from Sandra’s Scrapshop (store closed temporarily), certainly designed it perfectly!!

Best Monster

Hi there!! Hope that you are enjoying the fall weather, and are getting all your Halloween preparations done!! It has been an absolutely gorgeous October here in Saskatchewan, Canada, with no snow yet.  Although I love the look of snow, I cannot stand how stupid drivers get when it comes!! It’s as if they’ve never seen it before, and every time you get behind the wheel, you take your life into your hands 🙁  Anyway…lol…it’s time for a brand new ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers!  We have two sponsors this time:

Maria Medel Illustrations

and

We Are 3

We would love to see your creations….remember, it’s ATG!!

I have been given Maria Medel’s Cute Frankie to use for my card. Love the expression on this goof’s face 🙂  I colored him up with my SN and Copic markers, then fussy cut him out.  I used 2 different prints from a pad of DP for the background, then separated the 2 pieces with a strip of dark grey CS.  I added some screw head brads to “join” everything together.  The sentiment was printed on my computer, with the letters being emphasized with just a touch of silver colored pencil.

I’d like to join the following with this:

In the Night

Good morning 🙂  It’s hard to believe how this month is flying by!! Already the 20th, which means Halloween will soon be here!  It also means that it’s the start of a new challenge in the Sheepski Designs Facebook Group.  The challenge is ATG with a Sheepski Designs image.  To help your pocketbook a bit, please feel free to use my discount code for your purchase:

SKISUSAN10

I decided to spook out a bit with my inspiration card, using the image Claire Bear from Andrea’s shop.  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils, really trying to get a grungy, spooky look to her.  I distressed the edges, then inked them with black Distress Ink.  I saw this card fold on Pinterest, and decided to give it a shot for this card….turned out to be a easy peasy fold, too!!  I die cut some brick wall patterns, and added them to the side panels, after tearing and inking the edges, and spraying with some dark grey and pewter sprays.  I draped a few pieces of cheesecloth on the top, after grunging them up with ink as well.  The spiders were cut with an unbranded die, and I’ve added some red gems to make them into Black Widows.  I printed the sentiment on my computer then tore and inked the edges, before pasting it to a torn black strip.  This was attached with a few screw brads, and my zombie Halloween card was done 🙂  Super happy with the overall effect 😀

Merry and Bright

Hi there, I’m a day late with this post 🙁  I’ve been really out of it with the cold/flu for the past week and a half, and it’s taking its toll on me.  A new challenge has started over at the C.R.A.F.T. challenge blog.  We have our regular Christmas theme this week, for all of you that might be getting tired of Halloween makes!  Our lovely sponsors are:

All Dressed Up

and

Papernest Dolls Digis

I was given Little Angel, from All Dressed Up to work with.  I colored the little sweetie up with my Prismacolor pencils, then cut her out with a Xyron die.  After inking the edges of the image, I layered it on the poinsettia print card base with a die cut ornament corner and a heat embossed sentiment.  The one corner looked “naked” so I used just one ornament from another die cut to balance it out.  I hope you can dig up some of your Christmas stash, and join us for the challenge 🙂

I’d like to enter the following challenges with this:
